The Dia de les Illes Balears 2026<\/strong> (Balearic Islands Day)<\/strong> will take place from 27 February to 2 March<\/strong> under the slogan A way of being<\/strong><\/em>. The programme will bring together 301 activities across Mallorca, Menorca, Eivissa and Formentera<\/strong>, a record figure that reinforces a Diada model built on local proximity, participation and cultural diversity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Mallorca<\/strong> will concentrate 258 events<\/strong>, 219<\/strong> of them in Palma<\/strong> and 39<\/strong> across the rest of the island<\/strong>. Menorca<\/strong> will host 16 events<\/strong>, Eivissa 22<\/strong> and Formentera 5<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The programme includes children\u2019s, sporting, gastronomic, cultural and participatory activities<\/strong>. The Govern<\/strong> continues to focus on proposals for all audiences<\/strong>, with special attention to children<\/strong>, the promotion of local products<\/strong> with denomination of origin, traditional crafts<\/strong> and the cultural diversity<\/strong> of the archipelago.<\/p>\n

Main venues for Dia de les Illes Balears 2026 in Palma<\/h2>\n

The Mercat de les Illes Balears<\/strong> will once again be one of the main hubs of activity in Palma, with a total of 175 stalls run by artisans and vendors<\/strong>. This space will bring together proposals linked to crafts, design and traditional products, and it will consolidate its status as one of the busiest points during Dia de les Illes Balears 2026.<\/p>\n

The Fira del Producte Local<\/strong>, located in s\u2019Hort des Rei<\/strong>, will bring together 48 producers<\/strong>. This setting will provide visibility for foods and produce from across the archipelago, with special emphasis on products with denomination of origin and initiatives linked to the primary sector. The fair will be open from 27 February to 2 March, from 10:00 to 22:00<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Parc de la Mar<\/strong> will host the institutional exhibition of the Govern de les Illes Balears<\/strong>, a covered space bringing together 33 stands and one marquee<\/strong>. In this venue, the Govern\u2019s ministries will organise activities from 27 February to 2 March, from 10:00 to 20:00<\/strong>. The exhibition will offer children\u2019s, participatory, gastronomic and cultural proposals, with the aim of highlighting the cultural and social richness of the Balearic Islands within the Dia de les Illes Balears 2026 programme.<\/p>\n

The Fira de la Pesca i el Peix Local<\/strong> will take place for the second consecutive year, with activities on carrer del Consolat<\/strong> and pla\u00e7a de les Drassanes<\/strong>. The initiative, promoted by the Conselleria d\u2019Agricultura, Pesca i Medi Natural together with the main bodies in the sector, is conceived as a showcase for the archipelago\u2019s professional fishing industry. The space will include information stands dedicated to traditional fishing methods, sustainable fishing practices and quality labels for locally caught fish in Mallorca. The fair will be open from 27 February to 2 March, from 10:00 to 20:00<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Parc de Sa Feixina<\/strong> will host the Mostra de Cuina de les Illes Balears<\/strong><\/a>, as well as the Fira de les Cases Regionals<\/strong> and the Mostra de Furgoteques<\/strong>, from 27 February to 2 March, from 10:00 to 23:30<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Other highlights<\/h3>\n

Among the highlights in the programme are the concerts by the Orquestra Simf\u00f2nica de les Illes Balears<\/strong>, which will perform on 26 February in Manacor<\/strong> and on 2 March in Palma. The programme will also include the gala for the Ramon Llull Awards and the Gold Medal<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The 2026 edition will also strengthen its sporting element, with races and displays such as the Marcha Cicloturista de les Illes Balears<\/strong>, trotting competitions, slingshot shooting and various disciplines. As a new feature, the programme will incorporate the initiative \u201cLa ruta de les rutes saludables\u201d<\/strong><\/em>, which will propose routes on all the islands to encourage active lifestyles.<\/p>\n

Anniversary of the Estatut d\u2019Autonomia<\/h3>\n

The Dia de les Illes Balears is commemorated every 1 March and marks the anniversary of the entry into force of the Estatut d\u2019Autonomia<\/strong>. The date symbolises the constitution of Mallorca, Menorca, Eivissa and Formentera as an autonomous community<\/strong>, as well as the recognition of their self-government<\/strong>. The day represents an institutional and social celebration that puts the focus on the archipelago\u2019s collective identity, its history, its culture and its traditions.<\/p>\n
