Anglada will receive the honour on <strong>28 February<\/strong> at <strong>La Llotja in Palma<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The regional executive highlights the artist\u2019s ability to <strong>combine tradition and innovation<\/strong>, as well as his role in promoting the <strong>Catalan language<\/strong> through music and his sustained commitment to cultural outreach within and beyond the Balearic Islands.<\/p>\n<p>The Gold Medal is the <strong>highest honorary distinction of the autonomous community<\/strong> and recognises individuals and organisations that have made a decisive contribution to the prestige, development and social, cultural or institutional projection of the Balearic Islands.<\/p>\n<h2>Ramon Llull Awards 2026<\/h2>\n<p>The Consell de Govern has also approved the awarding of the <strong>15 Ramon Llull Awards 2026<\/strong>, which recognise excellence and commitment across fields such as culture, science, sport, business and social action. These honours will also be presented on 28 February at La Llotja in Palma.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Associaci\u00f3 d\u2019Amics del Ferrocarril de les Illes Balears (AAFIB)<\/strong> \u2013 For its work preserving the railway heritage.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Llevant en Marxa<\/strong> \u2013 For its work in international cooperation and humanitarian assistance.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Eugeni Aguil\u00f3 P\u00e9rez<\/strong> (posthumous) \u2013 For his academic and scientific contribution at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Albert Torres Barcel\u00f3<\/strong> \u2013 For his elite career in international cycling.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Margalida Jord\u00e0 Munar<\/strong> \u2013 For her leadership in the socio-educational transformation driven by the Na\u00fcm Project.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Banca March, SA<\/strong> \u2013 For its long-standing contribution to the economic and social development of the Balearic Islands.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Joan Oliver, <em>Maneu<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 For promoting and projecting contemporary Balearic art.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Estella Matutes Juan<\/strong> \u2013 For her international scientific and medical career in haematology.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Associaci\u00f3 de Criadors des Ca Eivissenc<\/strong> \u2013 For preserving the Ibizan Podenco.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Juan Bautista Costa Juan<\/strong> \u2013 For his contribution to nautical training and maritime knowledge.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Federaci\u00f3 de Futbol de les Illes Balears<\/strong> \u2013 For its centenary work promoting grassroots football.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Laura Pons Olives<\/strong> \u2013 For her artistic career in the performing arts.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Esperan\u00e7a Cladera Gil<\/strong> \u2013 For her progress and presence in elite athletics.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Maria Teresa Llull Mart\u00ed<\/strong> \u2013 For her work leading the Respiralia Foundation.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Miquel Bordoy<\/strong> \u2013 For his contribution to the Balearic Islands\u2019 business and economic development.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Balearic Government has agreed to award the Gold Medal <a href=\"https:\/\/mallorcaglobalmag.es\/en\/jaume-anglada-medalla-oro-balears-2026\/\"> [&#8230;]<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":4,"featured_media":152620,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1514,1513],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-152622","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-culture","category-society"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v25.2 -
