The Palma City Council<\/strong> Governing Board has initially approved this Wednesday the improvement project<\/strong> for the Parc de la Mar (Phase II)<\/strong>, an intervention involving a total investment of \u20ac9,432,548<\/strong>, of which \u20ac6 million<\/strong> will come from the Sustainable Tourism Tax (ITS)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Deputy Mayor for Infrastructure, Accessibility and Industrial Estates, Bel\u00e9n Soto<\/strong>, highlighted that this is \u201ca key intervention that will continue the comprehensive rehabilitation and enhancement of one of Palma\u2019s most emblematic public spaces\u201d.<\/p>\n

Parc de la Mar, inaugurated in 1984 and declared a Site of Cultural Interest (BIC)<\/strong>, is one of the city\u2019s key landscape and heritage landmarks<\/strong>. This second phase forms part of a broader plan that also includes Phases III and IV, with the aim of completing the full renovation of the park in the coming years<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The phase approved today will cover an area of 24,146 m\u00b2<\/strong>, in the section between the entrance on Antoni Maura<\/strong> and the seawater inlet bridge, maintaining the park\u2019s original design and aesthetic. The estimated execution period is 20 months<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
