El stand-off between Son Banya and Palma City Council<\/strong> wrote its fifth chapter of the year<\/strong> this Tuesday. The Council has launched a new operation to demolish six illegal constructions<\/strong> in the Son Banya\u2013Son Riera area, a move that reinforces the firm strategy announced by the mayor, Jaime Mart\u00ednez Llabr\u00e9s<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The operation began at 07:30<\/strong> and involved several municipal departments, including Urban Planning<\/strong>, Infrastructure<\/strong>, Animal Protection<\/strong> and Emaya<\/strong>, which worked in a coordinated manner to carry out the demolitions without incident.<\/p>\n

Large security deployment<\/h3>\n

The intervention also required a large security deployment. On the ground, two teams from the Immediate Intervention Unit (UII)<\/strong>, officers from the Integrated Security Unit (USEI)<\/strong> and the Drone Unit (UDROP)<\/strong>, which monitored the operation from the air, were deployed. They were joined by support from the Prevention and Reaction Unit (UPR)<\/strong> of the National Police, responsible for securing the perimeter.<\/p>\n

In addition to the six illegal constructions, municipal services removed an excavator<\/strong>, a lorry<\/strong>, materials related to the works and two vehicles that lacked mandatory insurance<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

With this action, the City Council maintains the pace of interventions set since the beginning of the year and reaffirms its intention to continue acting against any urban planning irregularities in the area. Son Banya thus adds another episode to a conflict that has become one of the municipality\u2019s most sensitive fronts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
