The <strong data-start=\"2314\" data-end=\"2334\">technical project<\/strong> will be developed by the <strong>Dry Stone Unit of the Department of Environment, Rural Affairs and Sports<\/strong>, which will define the stages and signage. Photo: Consell de Mallorca.<\/p><\/div>\n<p data-start=\"521\" data-end=\"798\">The proposal begins at the <strong data-start=\"544\" data-end=\"565\">Sanctuary of Lluc<\/strong> and ends at the <strong data-start=\"583\" data-end=\"617\">Church of Sant Jaume in Palma<\/strong>, following a route of <strong data-start=\"640\" data-end=\"657\">67 kilometres<\/strong> that passes through ten municipalities: Escorca, Caimari, Selva, Inca, Lloseta, Binissalem, Alar\u00f3, Consell, Santa Maria del Cam\u00ed, Marratx\u00ed and Palma. The main route will cover <strong data-start=\"707\" data-end=\"726\">58.1 kilometres<\/strong>, with an additional <strong data-start=\"747\" data-end=\"774\">9 kilometres of access routes<\/strong> from different points of the island:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"813\" data-end=\"958\">\n<li data-start=\"813\" data-end=\"849\">\n<p data-start=\"815\" data-end=\"849\"><strong data-start=\"815\" data-end=\"840\">Access from Lloseta:<\/strong> 3.2 km.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"850\" data-end=\"886\">\n<p data-start=\"852\" data-end=\"886\"><strong data-start=\"852\" data-end=\"877\">Access from Consell:<\/strong> 5.3 km.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"887\" data-end=\"958\">\n<p data-start=\"889\" data-end=\"958\"><strong data-start=\"889\" data-end=\"949\">Access from the Church of Mare de D\u00e9u de Montserrat:<\/strong> 0.5 km.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Each municipality along the route will have its own <strong data-start=\"2194\" data-end=\"2210\">unique stamp<\/strong> so that pilgrims can mark it in their credential, as is customary in the Jacobean tradition.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"361\" data-end=\"391\"><strong data-start=\"364\" data-end=\"391\">The Camino de Santiago from Mallorca, an \u201cinspiring\u201d project<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"393\" data-end=\"818\">The Vice President and Minister for Environment, Rural Affairs and Sports, <strong data-start=\"466\" data-end=\"483\">Pedro Bestard<\/strong>, presented the project accompanied by the president of the <strong>Federation of Local Entities of the Balearic Islands (FELIB)<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"598\" data-end=\"615\">Jaume Ferriol<\/strong>; the Secretary General, <strong data-start=\"640\" data-end=\"654\">Neus Serra<\/strong>; the Island Director for Environment, <strong data-start=\"695\" data-end=\"708\">Luis Rub\u00ed<\/strong>; and the Head of the Environmental Service, <strong data-start=\"752\" data-end=\"775\">Josep Antoni Aguil\u00f3<\/strong>. The parish priest of the <strong data-start=\"855\" data-end=\"898\">Church of Mare de D\u00e9u de Montserrat<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"900\" data-end=\"917\">Jaume Alemany<\/strong>, also took part. He is the president of the <strong>Friends of the Camino de Santiago Association of the Balearic Islands<\/strong> and a canon of Santiago Cathedral, considered the main driving force behind the Jacobean route in Mallorca.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1104\" data-end=\"1539\">During the presentation, Bestard highlighted that \u201cwe are working on the route design project to make a <strong data-start=\"1150\" data-end=\"1367\">new hiking trail on the island<\/strong> a reality and fulfil the wish of <strong data-start=\"1150\" data-end=\"1367\">many Mallorcan pilgrims<\/strong> who wanted to undertake the <strong data-start=\"1150\" data-end=\"1367\">Camino de Santiago from Mallorca<\/strong>.\u201d He added that it is \u201can <strong data-start=\"1394\" data-end=\"1535\">exciting project with a perfectly signposted route<\/strong> so that it can be completed without any difficulty.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1541\" data-end=\"1786\">For his part, <strong data-start=\"1555\" data-end=\"1572\">Jaume Ferriol<\/strong> emphasised FELIB\u2019s support from the very beginning, stating that \u201cfrom the moment we learned about this project, <strong data-start=\"1642\" data-end=\"1782\">we did not hesitate to support it<\/strong>.\u201d He also explained that \u201ca <strong data-start=\"1809\" data-end=\"1999\">specific stamp has been created for each town<\/strong> along the route so that pilgrims can <strong data-start=\"1809\" data-end=\"1999\">stamp it in their Camino de Santiago credential<\/strong>, just as <strong data-start=\"1809\" data-end=\"1999\">tradition dictates<\/strong>.\u201d Ferriol also wanted to acknowledge the work of the Mallorcan parish priest, stressing that \u201c<strong data-start=\"2086\" data-end=\"2146\">without Jaume Alemany, this would not have been possible<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Consell de Mallorca has presented the route of the <a href=\"https:\/\/mallorcaglobalmag.es\/en\/camino-santiago-mallorca-2026\/\"> [&#8230;]<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":4,"featured_media":149973,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1514,1520],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-150042","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-culture","category-environment"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v25.2 -
