The operation, coordinated by <strong data-start=\"395\" data-end=\"406\">PortsIB<\/strong> and the <strong data-start=\"412\" data-end=\"456\">Ministry of the Sea and the Water Cycle<\/strong>, resulted in a daily average of <strong data-start=\"490\" data-end=\"520\">266 kilos of marine litter<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"523\" data-end=\"561\">Mallorca, the island with the most waste collected<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"563\" data-end=\"911\"><strong data-start=\"563\" data-end=\"575\">Mallorca<\/strong> accounted for more than half of the total, with <strong data-start=\"617\" data-end=\"632\">4,387 kilos<\/strong>, followed by <strong data-start=\"645\" data-end=\"659\">Formentera<\/strong> (1,536 kg), <strong data-start=\"672\" data-end=\"683\">Menorca<\/strong> (1,120 kg) and <strong data-start=\"697\" data-end=\"708\">Eivissa<\/strong> (943 kg).<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"563\" data-end=\"911\">In total, <strong data-start=\"731\" data-end=\"751\">23 boats<\/strong> took part in the campaign: <strong data-start=\"780\" data-end=\"802\">15 beach boats<\/strong>, which operate in shallow areas, and <strong data-start=\"844\" data-end=\"860\">8 coastal boats<\/strong>, capable of working up to five miles offshore. During September, the beach boats collected <strong data-start=\"964\" data-end=\"979\">4,408 kilos<\/strong> and the coastal boats <strong data-start=\"997\" data-end=\"1012\">3,579 kilos<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1015\" data-end=\"1052\">Plastic, the main type of waste<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1054\" data-end=\"1322\"><strong data-start=\"1057\" data-end=\"1069\">Plastic<\/strong> was the most common material, representing <strong data-start=\"1108\" data-end=\"1128\">35.29% of the total<\/strong>. It was followed by <strong data-start=\"1146\" data-end=\"1167\">marine vegetation<\/strong> (22.17%) and <strong data-start=\"1179\" data-end=\"1208\">other assorted materials<\/strong> (20.67%).<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1054\" data-end=\"1322\">In addition, <strong data-start=\"1243\" data-end=\"1269\">special operations<\/strong> were carried out to remove bulky objects on all the islands.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"1324\" data-end=\"1617\">In <strong data-start=\"1327\" data-end=\"1339\">Mallorca<\/strong>, fuel residues, vegetation, a log and a drifting boat were removed.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1324\" data-end=\"1617\">In <strong data-start=\"1430\" data-end=\"1441\">Menorca<\/strong>, plastics, ropes and a dead moray eel were collected.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1324\" data-end=\"1617\">In <strong data-start=\"1499\" data-end=\"1510\">Eivissa<\/strong>, another drifting boat and plant remains were removed.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1324\" data-end=\"1617\">In <strong data-start=\"1566\" data-end=\"1580\">Formentera<\/strong>, two drifting boats and a log were taken out.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-start=\"1619\" data-end=\"1660\">Collaboration and special operations<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1662\" data-end=\"1837\">During the month, <strong data-start=\"1691\" data-end=\"1708\">four alerts<\/strong> were attended to \u2014 three in collaboration with <strong data-start=\"1744\" data-end=\"1767\">Maritime Rescue<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1773\" data-end=\"1780\">112<\/strong>, and one at the request of <strong data-start=\"1802\" data-end=\"1834\">institutions or private individuals<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1839\" data-end=\"2141\">The <strong data-start=\"1842\" data-end=\"1882\">2025 coastal cleaning campaign<\/strong> concluded on <strong>30 September<\/strong> after <strong data-start=\"1931\" data-end=\"1968\">five months of continuous activity<\/strong>. However, <strong data-start=\"1983\" data-end=\"2060\">PortsIB is keeping two vessels active in the port of Vila (Eivissa)<\/strong> to remove the waste accumulated after the heavy rains at the end of the month.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" data-start=\"1839\" data-end=\"2141\">Image gallery.
