The aim is to consolidate the <strong>increase in vaccination coverage<\/strong> achieved in the previous campaign and to protect in particular the <strong>at-risk groups<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-110134 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/mallorcaglobalmag.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/campana-vacunacion-gripe-balears-e1759411412207.webp\" alt=\"flu vaccination campaign Balearic Islands\" width=\"780\" height=\"520\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mallorcaglobalmag.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/campana-vacunacion-gripe-balears-e1759411412207-768x512.webp 768w, https:\/\/mallorcaglobalmag.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/campana-vacunacion-gripe-balears-e1759411412207.webp 780w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 780px) 100vw, 780px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, on <strong data-start=\"3166\" data-end=\"3182\">6 October<\/strong> vaccination will start in the <strong>schools<\/strong> of the archipelago, both public and private or state-subsidised. On the same date, vaccination will also be carried out for <strong data-start=\"3323\" data-end=\"3399\">residents in care homes for the elderly and for people with disabilities<\/strong>, as well as patients included in home care programmes.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1435\" data-end=\"1472\">Who is the <strong data-start=\"272\" data-end=\"313\">flu vaccination in the Balearic Islands<\/strong> aimed at?<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1473\" data-end=\"1542\">The flu vaccination in the Balearic Islands is recommended for:<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1544\" data-end=\"1585\">Older people and at-risk groups<\/h3>\n<ul data-start=\"1586\" data-end=\"2026\">\n<li>People over <strong>60 years<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Residents in nursing homes, disability centres or closed institutions.<\/li>\n<li>Patients with chronic diseases: diabetes, morbid obesity, cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, hepatic or renal conditions, immunocompromised patients and cancer patients.<\/li>\n<li>Pregnant women at any stage of pregnancy and up to 6 months after giving birth.<\/li>\n<li>Smokers or people with cochlear implants.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Children and young people<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Children aged <strong>6 to 83 months<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Children born between <strong>2020 and 2022<\/strong>, who will receive the vaccine at school.<\/li>\n<li>Young people aged 5 to 18 receiving long-term treatment with acetylsalicylic acid.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Professionals and carers<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Healthcare and social care staff, both public and private.<\/li>\n<li>Students undertaking placements in health centres.<\/li>\n<li>Essential service workers: police officers, firefighters and civil protection staff.<\/li>\n<li>Staff at nurseries and early childhood education centres.<\/li>\n<li>Workers on poultry, pig, mink or wildlife farms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How to book an appointment<\/h2>\n<p>From today, people included in these groups can <strong>book an appointment<\/strong> to be vaccinated from <strong>13 October<\/strong> onwards:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>By phone on <strong>Infosalut Conecta (971 22 00 00)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Through the <strong>patient portal<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>At the admissions desk of health centres.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u27a1\ufe0f This year there will be <strong>no walk-in vaccination without appointment<\/strong>, a measure replaced by the reinforcement of immunisation in <strong>schools, care homes and home care services<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>More than 276,000 doses available<\/h2>\n<p>For this season, the Government has acquired <strong>276,800 doses<\/strong> with a budget of <strong>2.7 million euros<\/strong>.
