This situation is expected to continue until <strong>1:00 PM on Tuesday<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"492\" data-end=\"907\">According to Aemet&#8217;s bulletin, there is a <strong data-start=\"547\" data-end=\"558\">40%-70%<\/strong> probability of <strong>storms and rainfall<\/strong> that could drop <strong data-start=\"617\" data-end=\"667\">up to 30 litres per square metre in one hour<\/strong> in the <strong>Serra de Tramuntana<\/strong> and in the <strong>north and northeast of Mallorca<\/strong>. In the <strong>Llevant, interior and south<\/strong> of the island, the probability is lower, between <strong data-start=\"806\" data-end=\"817\">10%-40%<\/strong>, with rainfall possibly reaching <strong data-start=\"860\" data-end=\"904\">20 litres per square metre in one hour<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"492\" data-end=\"907\">During the <strong>early hours of the morning<\/strong>, the <strong>south and east of Mallorca<\/strong> could experience rainfall totals of up to <strong>50\u202flitres per square metre in one hour <\/strong>and <strong>120<\/strong>\u202f<strong>litres per square metre in<\/strong> over <strong>2\u20133 hours<\/strong>, accompanied by <strong>wind gusts of 80\u201390\u202fkm\/h<\/strong> and occasional <strong>hail<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"492\" data-end=\"907\">Palma activates the Municipal Territorial Plan (Platerpalma)<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"909\" data-end=\"1172\">In view of this weather event, the <strong data-start=\"962\" data-end=\"1065\">Palma City Council has activated the Municipal Territorial Plan (Platerpalma) in pre-emergency phase<\/strong>, taking preventive measures to ensure the safety of the population. Measures include:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1174\" data-end=\"1795\">\n<li data-start=\"1174\" data-end=\"1370\">\n<p data-start=\"1176\" data-end=\"1370\"><strong data-start=\"1176\" data-end=\"1206\">Closure of Passeig Sagrera<\/strong> and the parks <strong data-start=\"1227\" data-end=\"1261\">Bellver, Can Tarres and Sa Riera<\/strong> from 00:00 on Tuesday. These restrictions will remain in place for the entire alert period.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1371\" data-end=\"1589\">\n<p data-start=\"1373\" data-end=\"1589\">Recommendations to the public to <strong data-start=\"1410\" data-end=\"1439\">minimise travel<\/strong>, avoid crossing streams or low-lying areas, not take shelter under isolated trees, and secure doors, windows and outdoor objects against the wind.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1590\" data-end=\"1795\">\n<p data-start=\"1592\" data-end=\"1795\">Special caution for drivers, avoiding stopping in areas at risk of flooding, and it is advised not to enter basements or flooded car parks to retrieve vehicles or personal belongings.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1797\" data-end=\"1967\">The City Council urges the public to <strong data-start=\"1844\" data-end=\"1913\">follow the authorities&#8217; instructions and stay informed<\/strong> via the official channels of the Council.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Emergency Services recommend following these basic tips<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Measures at home:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Secure doors and windows.<\/li>\n<li>Stay in the upper areas of the house.<\/li>\n<li>Remove from outside anything that could be carried away by water.<\/li>\n<li>Move medicines, documents, valuables, as well as food and drinking water, to high places in the house. Also secure hazardous products.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid basements and garages.<\/li>\n<li>If water has already entered your home, switch off the main electricity supply.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Measures outdoors:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In the countryside, keep away from streams and flood-prone areas.<\/li>\n<li>In urban areas, seek shelter in a building.<\/li>\n<li>Do not walk through areas with moving water. The faster the water, the greater the danger.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Measures on the road:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Avoid travelling by car unless absolutely necessary.<\/li>\n<li>If driving is necessary, reduce speed, increase the safety distance, and stick to motorways, dual carriageways, and main roads.<\/li>\n<li>In case of low visibility, stop the vehicle and signal your position.<\/li>\n<li>Do not enter flood-prone areas, even if the water appears shallow. Even a small depth of water can make cars float and be easily swept away.<\/li>\n<li>If the car begins to float and is carried away, exit immediately.
