Photo: CAIB.<\/p><\/div>\n<p data-start=\"585\" data-end=\"812\">Users of the <strong>Palma Citizen Card<\/strong> who do not have an <strong>Intermodal Card<\/strong> will need to request it <strong>free of charge<\/strong>. Those who already have an Intermodal Card <strong>do not need to take any action<\/strong>, as it will function as the Single Card.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"2602\" data-end=\"2642\">Useful information about the Single Card<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"2646\" data-end=\"2691\"><strong data-start=\"2646\" data-end=\"2672\">Request start date:<\/strong> October 2025.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2694\" data-end=\"2808\"><strong data-start=\"2694\" data-end=\"2729\">Users who need to request it:<\/strong> holders of the Palma Citizen Card who do not have an Intermodal Card.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2811\" data-end=\"2927\"><strong data-start=\"2811\" data-end=\"2849\">Users who do not need to request it:<\/strong> those who already have an Intermodal Card (it will be valid as a Single Card).<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2930\" data-end=\"3056\"><strong data-start=\"2930\" data-end=\"2956\">Transition period:<\/strong> October 2025 \u2013 March 2026 (the Citizen Card will continue to work on EMT buses until then).<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3059\" data-end=\"3158\"><strong data-start=\"3059\" data-end=\"3118\">End of validity of the Citizen Card for transport:<\/strong> end of the first quarter of 2026.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3161\" data-end=\"3187\"><strong data-start=\"3161\" data-end=\"3185\">Request points:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"3192\" data-end=\"3223\">Palma Intermodal Station.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3228\" data-end=\"3270\">TIB offices in Alc\u00fadia, Inca, and Manacor.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3275\" data-end=\"3330\">Municipal offices in Calvi\u00e0, Llucmajor, and Marratx\u00ed.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3335\" data-end=\"3387\">EMT Palma Customer Service Office.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3392\" data-end=\"3446\">Citizen Attention Offices (OAC) in Palma.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Requirement:<\/strong> resident in Mallorca.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3449\" data-end=\"3493\"><strong data-start=\"3449\" data-end=\"3459\">Cost:<\/strong> first issue free of charge.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3496\" data-end=\"3589\"><strong data-start=\"3496\" data-end=\"3516\">Next update:<\/strong> Single Card virtual version for mobile devices (expected first half of 2026).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>With almost <strong>570,000 residents<\/strong> already holding an Intermodal Card, over <strong>230,000 of whom live in Palma<\/strong>, this integration represents a key step towards more efficient and sustainable mobility.<\/p>\n<p>Conseller Jos\u00e9 Luis Mateo highlighted that the Government and City Council &#8220;work together to improve public transport, making it a <strong>real alternative to private vehicles<\/strong> and helping <strong>reduce traffic congestion<\/strong>&#8221; both in Palma and on the island&#8217;s roads. Deputy Mayor Deudero called the initiative a &#8220;<strong>historic milestone<\/strong>&#8220;, noting that the new card &#8220;represents a <strong>very important step for Palma residents<\/strong>, providing a more practical, convenient, and functional service&#8221;. &#8220;After more than two decades, a <strong>coordinated transport policy between administrations<\/strong> is finally being implemented,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<h3>Payment by card on EMT buses<\/h3>\n<p>Additionally, the new Single Card will serve as an <strong>identifier<\/strong> for <strong>Palma residents<\/strong> to obtain, <strong>free of charge<\/strong> via <strong>the Internet<\/strong>, the <strong>residency certificate for travel<\/strong> and for functions related to <strong>best practices in waste management<\/strong>, such as <strong>opening brown bins<\/strong> for organic matter.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"135\" data-end=\"325\">Another announced improvement is that it will be possible to <strong>pay the fare by card<\/strong> on <strong>Palma EMT buses<\/strong>. This system already works on trains, metro, and TIB interurban buses.
