Palma<\/strong> will host between 5 and 28 September<\/strong> the XXI Mostra de Teatre Aficionat \u2018Burball\u2019 (XXI Amateur Theatre Festival)<\/strong>, which will bring together 15 local amateur theatre companies<\/strong> at the Teatre Municipal Maruja Alfaro Mar i Terra<\/strong>. The aim of \u2018Burball\u2019 is to maintain the quality and prestige of local theatre, supporting emerging and established companies<\/strong>, as well as all creative initiatives that help enhance Palma’s cultural level, particularly in the framework of the city\u2019s project as European Capital of Culture 2031<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The First Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Culture Javier Bonet<\/strong> highlighted that \u2018Burball\u2019 is an event that \u201chas earned, on its own merits, a place of unquestionable relevance<\/strong> within the cultural and performing arts calendar<\/strong> of our city\u201d. Bonet added that the festival represents \u201ca unique opportunity<\/strong> to enjoy the creativity, effort and passion of the participating groups, who, once again, will captivate the audience with funny, unique and moving stories<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Palma councillor also emphasised the importance of the theatrical tradition on the island<\/strong>, stating that Palma and Mallorca are \u201cimmensely fortunate to have a theatrical family of great talent<\/strong> that, throughout history and in different circumstances, has known how to entertain, amuse, educate and inspire various generations of Mallorcans\u201d.<\/p>\n

Tickets will be available at very affordable prices, between \u20ac5 and \u20ac10<\/strong>, and most performances will take place at 20:00 hours<\/strong> at the Teatre Municipal Maruja Alfaro Mar i Terra<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
