Mallorca<\/strong> strengthens its commitment to festivals free from sexual violence through the \u201cNo i punt!\u201d<\/strong> campaign, promoted by the Island Directorate of Families of the Consell de Mallorca<\/strong>. In 2025, the initiative has reached a new record of implementation, with 51 municipalities involved<\/strong> \u2014including the local entity of Palmanyola\u2014 and more than 2,700 young people informed<\/strong> through its information points.<\/p>\n

Steady growth since 2023<\/h2>\n

Since its launch in 2023, the campaign has grown from 20 participating municipalities<\/strong> to more than double in 2024 (50) and added one more in 2025 with the inclusion of Calvi\u00e0<\/strong>. This progress consolidates the initiative as a public prevention policy<\/strong> present in most municipalities in Mallorca.<\/p>\n

Island Director of Families, Ana Ferriol<\/strong>, stressed that \u201cthe growth in participation, the involvement of organisers, municipal staff and young people, and the consolidation of the information points demonstrate the firm commitment of Mallorcan society to ensuring festivals free from sexual violence.\u201d<\/p>\n

Training as a key to prevention and action<\/h2>\n

So far this year, 20 specialised training sessions<\/strong> have been delivered, reaching 225 people<\/strong> including technical staff, event organisers, local police, civil protection, and those responsible for bars and information points.<\/p>\n

These sessions cover gender perspective in festivals<\/strong>, prevention of sexual violence and LGTBI-phobia<\/strong>, and the practical application of the \u201cNo i punt!\u201d protocol<\/strong>. In 2025, Felanitx has also requested specific training for leisure venues<\/strong> to implement its own action protocol.<\/p>\n

Information points and active protocol<\/h2>\n

As of August 5, 44 popular festivals<\/strong> have applied the action protocol<\/strong> against sexual violence, accompanied by information and awareness points that have reached 2,651 people<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In the same period, two incidents<\/strong> were recorded, in which coordination with the police and emergency services was activated, providing immediate assistance to the victims and referring them to the appropriate resources.<\/p>\n

A model committed to equality<\/h2>\n

The Consell de Mallorca emphasises that this campaign not only seeks to respond to cases of sexual violence<\/strong>, but also to prevent and raise awareness<\/strong> among the entire population. Collaboration with municipalities and local entities promotes a culture of equality and shared responsibility<\/strong>, so that both women and men can enjoy safe festivals throughout the island.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
