The agreement, promoted by the <strong>Balearic Government<\/strong>, comes into effect on <strong>Wednesday 30 August<\/strong> in <strong>Palma, Calvi\u00e0, Esporles, and Valldemossa<\/strong>, and will soon extend to <strong>Llucmajor, Dei\u00e0, Puigpunyent, and Bunyola<\/strong>, once the agreements are ratified by their respective local councils.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-35688 size-fusion-600 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/mallorcaglobalmag.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/taxi-600x400.jpg\" alt=\"falta taxis en mallorca\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mallorcaglobalmag.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/taxi-200x133.jpg 200w, https:\/\/mallorcaglobalmag.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/taxi-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mallorcaglobalmag.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/taxi-400x267.jpg 400w, https:\/\/mallorcaglobalmag.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/taxi-600x400.jpg 600w, https:\/\/mallorcaglobalmag.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/taxi-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/mallorcaglobalmag.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/taxi-800x533.jpg 800w, https:\/\/mallorcaglobalmag.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/taxi-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/mallorcaglobalmag.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/taxi-1200x800.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/mallorcaglobalmag.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/taxi-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/mallorcaglobalmag.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/taxi-e1753790194814.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"flex w-full flex-col gap-1 empty:hidden first:pt-[3px]\">\n<div class=\"markdown prose dark:prose-invert w-full break-words light\">\n<p>The measure aims to <strong>improve mobility<\/strong>, increase the availability of taxis, and <strong>reduce empty return trips<\/strong>, allowing taxis licensed in any of the participating municipalities to pick up passengers in the others, provided certain <strong>conditions at taxi ranks<\/strong> are met:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A taxi from another municipality may only pick up passengers at a rank <strong>if there are no local taxis available<\/strong>,<\/li>\n<li>or <strong>if there are more passengers waiting than taxis at the rank<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This new scheme aims to optimise the service, especially in <strong>tourist areas and during peak seasons<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Flat rate for Mallorca\u2019s taxis<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The service will operate <strong>24 hours a day<\/strong> until <strong>30 September 2025<\/strong>, and is set to return in 2026 from <strong>1 June to 30 September<\/strong>. A <strong>single fare will apply across the island<\/strong>, including <strong>\u20ac1.20 per kilometre<\/strong>, <strong>\u20ac2.50 base fare<\/strong>, and a <strong>\u20ac4.65 supplement for airport or port journeys<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In this first phase, <strong>more than 1,450 licences<\/strong> are already participating, with Palma (1,238) and Calvi\u00e0 (214) being the largest contributors.
