Every August, Sineu<\/strong> becomes a vibrant hub of culture, music, and community spirit with the arrival of its traditional festivities in honour of the Mare de D\u00e9u d\u2019Agost<\/strong>. The Festes d\u2019Agost 2025<\/strong> de Sineu begin on Thursday 31 July<\/strong> and will run until Saturday 30 August<\/strong>, with a packed and diverse programme designed for all audiences<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s calendar includes over thirty activities<\/strong> that bring together live music, open-air dances, theatre, folk shows, children\u2019s activities, cultural walks, dance performances, outdoor cinema, exhibitions, and sporting events<\/strong> such as the well-established Cursa Sa Barcella. The festive nights will feature performances by acts like Tomeu Penya, Enrockats, Orquestra Calypso, and Xeixa<\/strong>, along with DJs keeping the verbenas going until late.<\/p>\n

The Festes d\u2019Agost 2025 de Sineu preserve their community-driven and festive character<\/strong>, where tradition blends with more contemporary proposals. Symbolic events like the enairada de senyeres<\/em><\/strong>, the opening speech<\/strong> (this year given by l\u2019AECC de Sineu), the inauguration of streets named after women (an initiative to promote the memory of women in public spaces), the traditional Corregudes d’es C\u00f3s<\/em><\/strong>, or the solemn mass<\/strong> in honour of the Mare de D\u00e9u d\u2019Agost will not be missing.<\/p>\n

XXII Mucada: humour, tradition and awareness<\/h2>\n

One of the most anticipated events is, without a doubt, the Mucada<\/strong>, now in its 22nd edition<\/strong>, taking place on Monday 11 August<\/strong>. The event has become a social and festive phenomenon, filled with pink, revolving around the mythical figure of Lo Much de Reig. A key moment is the quirky procession that stages the encounter between the Muc and the Muca in Pla\u00e7a d\u2019Es Fossar.<\/p>\n

The Mucada stands out for its playful, satirical and creative character<\/strong>. Through humour, it pays tribute to local identity and collective imagination. However, its growing popularity in recent years has raised concerns over overcrowding. Therefore, organisers are appealing for civic responsibility<\/strong>, urging individuals to enjoy the celebration while respecting the village, its people, and the surroundings.<\/p>\n
