From <strong data-start=\"250\" data-end=\"268\">Casal Solleric<\/strong> to <strong data-start=\"272\" data-end=\"286\">Es Baluard<\/strong>, including the <strong data-start=\"302\" data-end=\"330\">Mir\u00f3 Mallorca Foundation<\/strong>, the city is currently hosting an <strong data-start=\"365\" data-end=\"401\">exceptional array of exhibitions<\/strong> featuring <strong data-start=\"412\" data-end=\"447\">major names in contemporary art<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_120063\" style=\"width: 831px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-120063\" class=\"wp-image-120063 \" src=\"https:\/\/mallorcaglobalmag.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Stockholder_CULTURA.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"821\" height=\"549\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-120063\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Stockholder, en Es Baluard \/ Foto: David Bonet.<\/p><\/div>\n<p data-start=\"501\" data-end=\"1052\">Following the presentations at <strong data-start=\"532\" data-end=\"550\">Casal Solleric<\/strong> of <strong data-start=\"554\" data-end=\"575\">\u00c1ngela de la Cruz<\/strong>, with her <strong data-start=\"586\" data-end=\"630\">powerful reflection on expanded painting<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"636\" data-end=\"652\">Peter Halley<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"654\" data-end=\"699\">master of neo-geometry and vibrant colour<\/strong> \u2014 whose exhibition in Palma concludes on <strong data-start=\"741\" data-end=\"751\">May 25<\/strong> \u2014 <strong data-start=\"754\" data-end=\"774\">matter and light<\/strong> take centre stage through <strong data-start=\"801\" data-end=\"825\">Markus Linnenbrink\u2019s<\/strong> site-specific intervention <em data-start=\"853\" data-end=\"914\"><strong data-start=\"854\" data-end=\"913\">WHATWETHINKASINSIGNIFICANTPROVIDESTHEPURESTAIRWEBREATHE<\/strong><\/em>. This <strong data-start=\"921\" data-end=\"960\">co-production with Es Baluard Museu<\/strong> fosters a <strong data-start=\"971\" data-end=\"1029\">dialogue between architecture, painting and perception<\/strong> until <strong data-start=\"1036\" data-end=\"1051\">7 September<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1054\" data-end=\"1602\">Meanwhile, <strong data-start=\"1065\" data-end=\"1113\">Es Baluard Museu d\u2019Art Contemporani de Palma<\/strong> presents <strong data-start=\"1123\" data-end=\"1136\">Nachleben<\/strong>, a <strong data-start=\"1140\" data-end=\"1198\">group show exploring painting as a conceptual art form<\/strong>, raising questions such as: <em data-start=\"1227\" data-end=\"1272\">why can any image be considered a painting?<\/em> It also features <strong data-start=\"1290\" data-end=\"1309\">Cardinal Points<\/strong> by <strong data-start=\"1313\" data-end=\"1336\">Jessica Stockholder<\/strong>, a <strong data-start=\"1340\" data-end=\"1397\">pioneer at the intersection of painting and sculpture<\/strong>; and Chilean artist <strong data-start=\"1418\" data-end=\"1440\">Eugenio Dittborn\u2019s<\/strong> <em data-start=\"1441\" data-end=\"1460\">Airmail Paintings<\/em>, the <strong data-start=\"1466\" data-end=\"1500\">first solo exhibition in Spain<\/strong> of one of the most significant figures in <strong data-start=\"1543\" data-end=\"1576\">Latin American conceptual art<\/strong> of the <strong data-start=\"1584\" data-end=\"1601\">1970s and 80s<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_120061\" style=\"width: 589px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-120061\" class=\" wp-image-120061\" src=\"https:\/\/mallorcaglobalmag.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Eugenio-Dittborn_CULTURA.webp\" alt=\"La obra de Eugenio Dittborn, en Es Baluard \/ Foto: David Bonet.\" width=\"579\" height=\"386\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-120061\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">La obra de Eugenio Dittborn, en Es Baluard \/ Foto: David Bonet.<\/p><\/div>\n<h2>Palma, painted by Mir\u00f3<\/h2>\n<div id=\"attachment_120066\" style=\"width: 363px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-120066\" class=\"wp-image-120066\" src=\"https:\/\/mallorcaglobalmag.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Miro_CULTURA.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"353\" height=\"472\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-120066\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Mir\u00f3, 1983.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong data-start=\"1719\" data-end=\"1732\">Joan Mir\u00f3<\/strong>, a <strong data-start=\"1736\" data-end=\"1772\">key figure in the history of art<\/strong>, also plays a <strong data-start=\"1787\" data-end=\"1835\">leading role in this pictorial effervescence<\/strong>. His legacy can be explored at the <strong data-start=\"1871\" data-end=\"1899\">Mir\u00f3 Mallorca Foundation<\/strong> and, from <strong data-start=\"1910\" data-end=\"1935\">19 July to 9 November<\/strong>, his work will take centre stage in <em data-start=\"1972\" data-end=\"1990\"><strong data-start=\"1973\" data-end=\"1989\">Paysage Mir\u00f3<\/strong><\/em>, one of the <strong data-start=\"2003\" data-end=\"2032\">major exhibitions of 2025<\/strong>. This show will be <strong data-start=\"2052\" data-end=\"2178\">distributed across Casal Solleric, Es Baluard Museu d&#8217;Art Contemporani, the Mir\u00f3 Foundation itself, and La Llotja de Palma<\/strong>. The <strong data-start=\"2184\" data-end=\"2238\">profound encounters and serendipitous coincidences<\/strong> that shaped Mir\u00f3\u2019s work will be the <strong data-start=\"2275\" data-end=\"2292\">central theme<\/strong> of this exhibition.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPerhaps it\u2019s the best collection of painting exhibitions currently on display in Europe,\u201d says <strong>Javier Bonet<\/strong>, Palma\u2019s Councillor for Tourism, Culture and Sports. Indeed, these are <strong data-start=\"2509\" data-end=\"2568\">artists regularly featured in the world\u2019s major museums<\/strong>, and their presence in the <strong data-start=\"2596\" data-end=\"2616\">Balearic capital<\/strong> reinforces its <strong data-start=\"2632\" data-end=\"2673\">status as a European hub for painting<\/strong>.
