This Sunday 18 May<\/strong>, at 6:30 p.m.<\/strong>, the Son Pardo racecourse<\/strong> will host the 92nd edition of the Gran Premio Nacional de Trote<\/strong>, the most eagerly awaited event for Mallorcan fans and one of the major fixtures on the European trotting calendar. On the track, 16 trotters from the M generation<\/strong> will compete for the prestigious title and a total prize fund of \u20ac100,000<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The flagship race of Balearic trotting will once again make Mallorca the international epicentre of this equestrian discipline. The first-placed of the 16 competing drivers will receive \u20ac46,000<\/strong>, while the remainder of the prize will be distributed among the top eight, in a system designed to reward effort and encourage top-level competition.<\/p>\n

The event is part of a weekend entirely dedicated to the world of trotting<\/strong>. On Saturday 17 May, the Gran Premio del Minitrot<\/strong> will take place, featuring the youngest drivers, and on Sunday, from the morning onwards, races will continue, including the Gran Premio Infantil<\/strong>, before the highlight of the day: the Gran Premio Nacional at 6:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

The Gran Premio Nacional de Trote: a symbol of \u201ctradition, passion, excitement and identity\u201d<\/strong><\/h2>\n

During the official presentation, the second vice-president of the Consell de Mallorca and councillor for Environment, Rural Affairs and Sports, Pedro Bestard<\/strong>, emphasised that this race symbolises \u201ctradition, passion, excitement and identity\u201d, and noted that \u201cthis year we are celebrating a very special edition that demonstrates our commitment to trotting\u201d. Bestard highlighted the increase in the budget of the Mallorca Institute of Equestrian Sports in 2025 \u2014 almost 19% more<\/strong> \u2014 as well as the recovery of the race calendar with 28 more races at Son Pardo and 50 in Manacor<\/strong>, and an increase in prize money.<\/p>\n

The event also featured the unveiling of the official trophy<\/strong>, a sculpture by artist Anatoliy Neznamov<\/strong>, representing the strength, elegance and cultural roots of trotting in Mallorca.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
