The Ajuntament de Palma<\/strong> has completed the pavement repair works in the Avenidas area<\/strong>, one of the main arteries of the city. The works have affected the section between Avenida Alexandre Rossell\u00f3<\/strong>, Avenida Alemanya<\/strong>, Avenida Comte Sallent<\/strong>, and Avenida del Gran i General Consell<\/strong>. The intervention has been completed on time and as planned, within a period of four days<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The main objective was to repair the defects and issues of the roadway. To achieve this, the deteriorated asphalt<\/strong> was removed and replaced with a new layer of pavement of the same thickness, improving road safety<\/strong> and traffic flow<\/strong>. In total, an area of 13,500 square metres<\/strong> was addressed, which helps to improve the durability of the road and ensures its functionality for a longer period.<\/p>\n

Once the pavement was completed, the Mobility<\/strong> department proceeded with repainting the road markings<\/strong>, thus completing the works and restoring traffic flow to normal. This project is part of the Ajuntament de Palma’s<\/strong> policy to improve urban infrastructure<\/strong> and ensure smoother and safer traffic for residents and visitors. The renewal of the road surface not only improves vehicle movement but also enhances the comfort and safety of pedestrians.<\/p>\n

It is worth mentioning that these works are in addition to the tasks carried out between 28th and 30th of April<\/strong>, when the bus lane on Avenidas<\/strong> was renewed. Thus, within a week, the surface of one of Palma\u2019s main roads has been rehabilitated, significantly improving mobility in the area.<\/p>\n

Next phases of the project<\/strong><\/p>\n

In a second phase<\/strong>, still to be determined, the pavement will be renewed in a small section of the Ramblas<\/strong> and Pla\u00e7a d’Espanya<\/strong>. A surface layer will also be applied over all the repaired pavement to extend its lifespan.<\/p>\n
