The Balearic Islands<\/strong> have informed the Government of Spain that they are currently hosting 573 unaccompanied migrant minors<\/strong>, according to data provided by the island councils. This figure represents a 1,023% occupancy<\/strong> rate over the places specifically available for this group.<\/p>\n

In light of this situation, the regional government has stated that it cannot accommodate any more unaccompanied migrant minors<\/strong> beyond those who arrive on its shores. Furthermore, the autonomous community has decided to appeal to the Constitutional Court against the decree law regulating the distribution of these minors among different regions.<\/p>\n

The regional advocacy office and the Department of Families and Social Affairs are already working on the formalisation of the appeal, arguing that there are sufficient legal grounds to challenge the regulation and prevent the arrival of minors from other autonomous communities.<\/p>\n
