The cleaning and maintenance reinforcement initiative ‘Palma a punt’<\/strong>, promoted by the municipal company Emaya, has completed a new phase of operations in the centre of Palma, achieving the removal of 4.01 tonnes of waste<\/strong>. During the work, high-pressure water cleaning was also carried out on almost 274,000 m\u00b2 of public roads<\/strong> and 332 graffiti<\/strong> were removed.<\/p>\n

In this phase, which lasted four days, 43 workers<\/strong> took part, carrying out their work in key areas included in sector 7-8 of Palma, such as Jaume III, La Missi\u00f3, Pla\u00e7a dels Patins, Sant Jaume, La Seu, sa Llotja-Passeig del Born, Puig de Sant Pere, Sant Nicolau, sa Calatrava, Monti-sion, Cort, es Sindicat and es Mercat. In total, the area of operation covers 1.4 km\u00b2<\/strong>, where more than 19,000 people<\/strong> reside in 12,309 homes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In addition to street cleaning, the Emaya team has carried out other key tasks for the maintenance of public spaces, such as the clearing of 4,384 units of weeds<\/strong>, the cleaning and maintenance of 562 bins and 48 containers<\/strong>, as well as the external cleaning of another 266 containers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

‘Palma a punt’ until 20 June<\/h2>\n

The ‘Palma a punt’ programme, which was launched at the beginning of the current legislature, is part of the Ajuntament\u2019s strategy to periodically reinforce cleaning in the different neighbourhoods of the city. The current phase of the programme, covering 84 neighbourhoods grouped into 9 sectors<\/strong>, began on 3 February<\/strong> and will end on 20 June<\/strong>. To carry out these tasks, Emaya has assigned 12 workers to the morning shift and 31 to the afternoon shift<\/strong>, ensuring efficient coverage throughout all phases of the programme.<\/p>\n
