The C\u00faber and Gorg Blau reservoirs<\/strong>, two of the main water resources in Palma<\/strong>, have experienced a significant improvement<\/strong> in their reserve levels, reaching for the first time in almost 18 months<\/strong> a filling average of over 60%<\/strong>. Specifically, a 60.38%<\/strong> as of March 24, 2025.<\/p>\n

Currently, the C\u00faber reservoir has a filling percentage of 58.80%<\/strong>, with a volume of 2,731,327 m\u00b3<\/strong> of stored water. Meanwhile, the Gorg Blau reservoir shows a better situation, with a 61.38%<\/strong> filling, equivalent to 4,518,041 m\u00b3<\/strong> of water.<\/p>\n

If we compare<\/strong> the current figures with those from one year ago<\/strong>, a substantial improvement is evident. At the end of March 2024, the C\u00faber reservoir was at 50.24%<\/strong>, with 2,311,499 m\u00b3, while Gorg Blau was at 60.67%<\/strong>, with 4,466,134 m\u00b3. The combined reserve average at that time was 56.64%<\/strong>, clearly lower than the current levels.<\/p>\n

In historical terms<\/strong>, to find combined reserve figures above 60% in recent months, we have to go back to July 2023<\/strong>, when the figure reached 61.50%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

A “very positive” figure for C\u00faber and Gorg Blau<\/h2>\n

In the words of the Deputy Mayor and president of Emaya, Lloren\u00e7 Bauz\u00e1 de Keizer<\/strong>, these figures “invite satisfaction regarding the evolution of the water reserves in Palma’s reservoirs”. He also pointed out that surpassing 60% filling is “a very positive<\/strong> figure”, reflecting both the good rainfall<\/strong> and the public’s awareness of the responsible use<\/strong> of water. However, Bauz\u00e1 de Keizer warned that “we must not be dazzled<\/strong> by the figures” and urged users to continue with their water-saving and resource optimisation<\/strong> habits.<\/p>\n
