Under the theme &#8220;Sport and technology&#8221;, advancements that various federations have implemented through digital innovation were showcased. Additionally, a tribute was paid to <strong>four prestigious coaches<\/strong> who have left their mark on the history of Mallorcan sports:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"955\" data-end=\"1178\">\n<li data-start=\"955\" data-end=\"1010\"><strong data-start=\"957\" data-end=\"972\">Kiko Mart\u00edn<\/strong> (canoeing) \u2013 Award for Values<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1011\" data-end=\"1063\"><strong data-start=\"1013\" data-end=\"1027\">Toni Nadal<\/strong> (tennis) \u2013 Lifetime Achievement Award<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1064\" data-end=\"1115\"><strong data-start=\"1066\" data-end=\"1084\">Brigitte Yag\u00fce<\/strong> (taekwondo) \u2013 Promising Talent Award<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1116\" data-end=\"1178\"><strong data-start=\"1118\" data-end=\"1142\">Lloren\u00e7 Serra Ferrer<\/strong> (football) \u2013 Award for Excellence<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1180\" data-end=\"1593\">The president of the Consell de Mallorca, <strong>Lloren\u00e7 Galm\u00e9s<\/strong>, highlighted the crucial role of coaches, clubs, federations, municipalities, and families in the development of sport on the island. &#8220;These awards serve as motivation to continue working with enthusiasm and perseverance. Behind every sporting and personal success, there is a coach who not only teaches technique but also acts as a mentor, instilling values and providing the motivation to achieve goals,&#8221; said Galm\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_118211\" style=\"width: 790px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-118211\" class=\"size-full wp-image-118211\" src=\"https:\/\/mallorcaglobalmag.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/XXIII-Gala-del-Deporte-2025-2.webp\" alt=\"23rd Sports Gala 2025\" width=\"780\" height=\"520\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-118211\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Sailors Neus Fern\u00e1ndez and Martina Gomila; Consell vice president Pedro Bestard; Toni Nadal; Consell president Lloren\u00e7 Galm\u00e9s; Lloren\u00e7 Serra Ferrer; Kiko Mart\u00edn; former footballer Toni Prats, and Brigitte Yag\u00fce.<\/p><\/div>\n<p data-start=\"1595\" data-end=\"2049\">Meanwhile, the second vice president and councillor for Environment, Rural Affairs, and Sports, <strong>Pedro Bestard<\/strong>, emphasised the effort and dedication of all those present: &#8220;The years, months, weeks, days, and hours you dedicate to your sport are the key to your success.&#8221; He also highlighted the creation of the new Special Awards of the Consell, which aim to acknowledge the fundamental role of coaches in the development of athletes.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"2051\" data-end=\"2091\">Recognition for young champions<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2093\" data-end=\"2359\">One of the most memorable moments of the gala was the presentation of the <strong data-start=\"2158\" data-end=\"2187\">School Sports Award<\/strong> to the young Mallorcan sailors <strong data-start=\"2226\" data-end=\"2261\">Neus Fern\u00e1ndez and Martina Gomila<\/strong>, world and European champions in the 420 sailing class. Their impressive achievements include:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2361\" data-end=\"2563\">\n<li data-start=\"2361\" data-end=\"2429\"><strong data-start=\"2363\" data-end=\"2427\">1st place in the Under-17 World Championship in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2430\" data-end=\"2497\"><strong data-start=\"2432\" data-end=\"2495\">1st place in the Absolute European Championship in Portoro\u017e (Slovenia)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2498\" data-end=\"2563\"><strong data-start=\"2500\" data-end=\"2561\">3rd place in the Youth European Championship in Thessaloniki (Greece)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2565\" data-end=\"2731\">These accomplishments have elevated Mallorcan sailing to the highest international level.
