This increase highlights the <strong>higher incidence<\/strong> of time-dependent conditions such as <strong data-start=\"401\" data-end=\"451\">heart attacks, strokes, and cardiac arrests<\/strong>, conditions that require rapid intervention to minimise complications and improve survival rates.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_118098\" style=\"width: 790px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-118098\" class=\"wp-image-118098 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/mallorcaglobalmag.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/SAMU-061-e1741949676342.webp\" alt=\"SAMU 061\" width=\"780\" height=\"520\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mallorcaglobalmag.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/SAMU-061-e1741949676342-768x512.webp 768w, https:\/\/mallorcaglobalmag.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/SAMU-061-e1741949676342.webp 780w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 780px) 100vw, 780px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-118098\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: CAIB.<\/p><\/div>\n<p data-start=\"571\" data-end=\"722\">The SAMU 061&#8217;s healthcare data reflect an increase in the activation of specific protocols for cardiovascular emergencies:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"724\" data-end=\"1021\">\n<li data-start=\"724\" data-end=\"800\"><strong data-start=\"726\" data-end=\"745\">Heart Attack Protocol:<\/strong> activated <strong data-start=\"756\" data-end=\"769\">376 times<\/strong>, a <strong data-start=\"774\" data-end=\"785\">26% increase<\/strong> compared to 2023.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"801\" data-end=\"888\"><strong data-start=\"803\" data-end=\"820\">Stroke Protocol:<\/strong> activated <strong data-start=\"831\" data-end=\"844\">801 times<\/strong>, representing a <strong data-start=\"878\" data-end=\"885\">15% increase<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"889\" data-end=\"1021\"><strong data-start=\"891\" data-end=\"907\">Cardiac Arrest Protocol:<\/strong> activated <strong data-start=\"920\" data-end=\"937\">507 times<\/strong>, a <strong data-start=\"942\" data-end=\"953\">14% increase<\/strong>, with a <strong data-start=\"962\" data-end=\"996\">41% success rate in resuscitation<\/strong> upon arrival at the hospital.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1023\" data-end=\"1487\">These protocols enable a rapid and coordinated response, significantly improving the survival rates of patients with cardiovascular conditions. In the Balearic Islands, the SAMU 061 response times are <strong data-start=\"1225\" data-end=\"1271\">12 minutes for cardiac arrests<\/strong> and an average of <strong data-start=\"1277\" data-end=\"1300\">46 minutes<\/strong> from the activation of the heart attack or stroke protocol to the administration of hospital treatment, well below the <strong data-start=\"1434\" data-end=\"1484\">international recommendations of 120 minutes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1023\" data-end=\"1487\">Higher incidence in men and adults aged 30 to 70<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2000\" data-end=\"2467\">According to SAMU 061 data, heart attacks and strokes predominantly affect <strong data-start=\"2099\" data-end=\"2116\">men (72%)<\/strong> compared to women (28%). In the case of cardiac arrests, the difference is smaller, but they still occur more frequently in men (<strong data-start=\"2263\" data-end=\"2295\">58% compared to 42% in women<\/strong>). This difference is attributed to a higher prevalence of cardiovascular risk factors in men, as well as social and life expectancy factors.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2469\" data-end=\"2799\">Regarding age, <strong data-start=\"2493\" data-end=\"2513\">80% of cases<\/strong> occur in individuals aged <strong data-start=\"2562\" data-end=\"2578\">30 to 70 years<\/strong>. However, hospitals in the Balearic Islands have specific protocols to attend to patients outside this range, such as the <strong data-start=\"2709\" data-end=\"2736\">paediatric stroke protocol<\/strong> and specialised care programmes for elderly patients.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"2469\" data-end=\"2799\">Prevention and early detection of <strong>cardiovascular conditions<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2469\" data-end=\"2799\">Given this situation, SAMU 061 emphasises the importance of <strong data-start=\"1551\" data-end=\"1613\">prevention, early detection, and immediate action<\/strong>.
