The Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports, Jaume Bauz\u00e0<\/strong>, has requested in Madrid a special regime for the cultural sector<\/strong> so that “the insularity factor is taken into account<\/strong> and for the Ministry to grant subsidies<\/strong> in the autonomous communities, as well as other fiscal measures<\/strong> that could benefit the cultural sector.” He also added that “very necessary actions are required to improve the presence of island productions in performance spaces, applying positive discrimination<\/strong> measures, as well as compensating for the logistical overruns<\/strong>.” For his part, the director of the Institut d\u2019Estudis Bale\u00e0rics (IEB), Lloren\u00e7 Perell\u00f3<\/strong>, highlighted that “the Government of the Balearic Islands is committed to internationalisation<\/strong>, which is reflected in the 1.3 million euros allocated this year to the IEB’s external projection grants.”<\/p>\n

These statements were made during the institutional visit to ARCOmadrid 2025<\/strong>, in which Bauz\u00e0 and Perell\u00f3 participated, along with the Regional Secretary of Culture, Pedro Vidal, the President of the Consell de Mallorca, Lloren\u00e7 Galm\u00e9s<\/strong>, and the Vice-President of the Consell and Councillor for Culture and Heritage, Ant\u00f2nia Roca<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The visit began at the IEB stand, where the TAP\u00cdS<\/strong> proposal by Balearic artist M\u00f2nica Fuster<\/strong>, curated by Sebasti\u00e0 Mascar\u00f3<\/strong>, is exhibited after being selected in the IEB call to participate in this year\u2019s edition.<\/p>\n

The Balearic delegation also toured the stands of the archipelago\u2019s galleries present at the fair, such as Bar\u00f3, Florit\/Florit, Parra & Romero, Cay\u00f3n, Pelaires, and Fermay<\/strong>. In addition, they were able to visit the stands of other galleries exhibiting works by artists from the Balearic Islands<\/strong> as well as those related to current and future exhibition projects by museums and institutions in the islands.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the IEB stand hosted the presentation of the new editorial collection of Es Baluard Museu<\/strong>, with publications on the current exhibitions “Nachleben. Painting as Conceptual Art<\/strong>” and “The Green Fog<\/strong>” by Jos\u00e9 Fiol, as well as the book on the exhibition by artist Ana Laura Al\u00e1ez<\/strong> held last year.<\/p>\n

The authorities also visited the 9th edition of Urvanity<\/strong>, located at Matadero Madrid, with stops at the galleries of Pep Llabr\u00e9s, La Bibi, Gallery Red, and Stain Projects<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
