The President of the Government, <strong>Margalida Prohens<\/strong>, highlighted the <strong>loyalty<\/strong> of German tourists, who in <strong>2024<\/strong> reached <strong>5.3 million visitors<\/strong>, representing a <strong>9% growth<\/strong> compared to the previous year. Prohens thanked this <strong>continued trust<\/strong> and emphasised the importance of <strong>maintaining a strong relationship with Germany<\/strong>, the <strong>main driving force of the Balearic tourism sector<\/strong>. &#8220;The loyalty of the German market is a <strong>fundamental pillar<\/strong> for our sector,&#8221; she stated.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_117828\" style=\"width: 790px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-117828\" class=\"size-full wp-image-117828\" src=\"https:\/\/mallorcaglobalmag.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/ITB-Berlin-2025.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"780\" height=\"518\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-117828\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Image of the Balearic delegation at the ITB Berlin 2025. Photo: CAIB.<\/p><\/div>\n<p data-start=\"707\" data-end=\"1174\">For his part, the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports, <strong>Jaume Bauz\u00e0<\/strong>, took advantage of the ITB Berlin 2025 tourism fair to reaffirm the Balearic Islands&#8217; <strong>commitment<\/strong> to <strong>sustainability and quality<\/strong> in tourism. &#8220;It is essential to <strong>diversify our tourism offer and reduce seasonality<\/strong>. We want to position the Balearic Islands as a <strong>cultural, sports, and gastronomic<\/strong> destination, capable of attracting visitors year-round with a varied schedule of activities and events,&#8221; Bauz\u00e0 said. In this regard, he highlighted the increase in the arrival of German tourists during the <strong>winter season<\/strong>, with an <strong>11% increase<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"707\" data-end=\"1174\">Positive Expectations<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1176\" data-end=\"1649\">The atmosphere of optimism at the ITB was also reflected in the meetings held with major German tour operators such as <strong>TUI, DER Touristik, Schaunisland, and Alltours<\/strong>. Tourism agents conveyed <strong>&#8220;good vibes&#8221;<\/strong> regarding the arrival of German tourists to the Balearic Islands for this season, with <strong>positive expectations concerning demand<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1651\" data-end=\"2010\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Bauz\u00e0, after the round of meetings, expressed his satisfaction with the results: &#8220;The <strong>good relationship between the Balearic Islands and Germany<\/strong> is reaffirmed, a key market for our tourism, which contributes to achieving <strong>de-seasonalisation across all the islands<\/strong> and is particularly committed to the transition towards a more sustainable model,&#8221; he pointed out.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1651\" data-end=\"2010\">Sustainability Pact<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"551\">The President of the Government, Margalida Prohens, presented on Tuesday in Berlin the challenges faced by the government in implementing the Foundations of the <a href=\"https:\/\/mallorcaglobalmag.es\/en\/pacto-por-la-sostenibilidad-baleares-aplicara-una-ecotasa-mas-alta-en-verano-y-reducida-en-invierno\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Transition Agenda<\/strong><\/a>, a plan promoted by the <strong>Sustainability Pact<\/strong>. This document, resulting from the 12 working groups held in Mallorca, sets clear indicators and objectives to move towards a more sustainable model in the Balearic Islands. Prohens emphasised the importance of reaching consensus on all proposals in order to guarantee the well-being of residents and the quality of the experience for tourists.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"553\" data-end=\"931\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">The Government is working on developing a package of proposals aligned with the Transition Agenda, which will be presented to Balearic society in the coming weeks.
