She also emphasised that <strong data-start=\"737\" data-end=\"878\">&#8220;the quality of employment is a reality, with 67% of contracts being permanent and a part-time employment rate far below the rest of Spain&#8221;<\/strong>, allowing the region to <strong data-start=\"895\" data-end=\"935\">&#8220;leave job insecurity behind&#8221;<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h4 data-start=\"940\" data-end=\"978\"><strong data-start=\"945\" data-end=\"976\">Employment and unemployment trends<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul data-start=\"979\" data-end=\"1953\">\n<li data-start=\"979\" data-end=\"1109\">Affiliations: Increased by 14,690 people compared to February 2023 (+3.1%) and by 14,670 compared to January (+3.1%).<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1110\" data-end=\"1284\">Comparison with Spain: Nationwide, employment grew by 2.4% year-on-year and 0.5% monthly, placing the Balearic Islands well above the average.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1285\" data-end=\"1953\">Unemployment:\n<ul data-start=\"1301\" data-end=\"1953\">\n<li data-start=\"1301\" data-end=\"1357\">Year-on-year: Decreased by 4.3% (-1,336 people).<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1360\" data-end=\"1421\">Month-on-month: Declined by 0.5% (-153 people).<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1424\" data-end=\"1560\">By islands:\n<ul data-start=\"1447\" data-end=\"1560\">\n<li data-start=\"1447\" data-end=\"1518\">Decreased in Mallorca (-4.8%), Menorca (-2.6%), and Ibiza (-2.1%).<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1523\" data-end=\"1560\">Increased in Formentera (+11.1%).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1563\" data-end=\"1776\">By demographic groups:\n<ul data-start=\"1591\" data-end=\"1776\">\n<li data-start=\"1591\" data-end=\"1684\">Largest decline among women (-5.9%), those over 25 (-6.2%), and Spanish nationals (-6.3%).<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1689\" data-end=\"1776\">Increased among those under 25 (+11.3%) and EU foreign nationals (+5.4%).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1779\" data-end=\"1953\">By sectors:\n<ul data-start=\"1805\" data-end=\"1953\">\n<li data-start=\"1805\" data-end=\"1895\">Sharpest declines in industry (-7.9%) and other service sectors (-6.9%).<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1900\" data-end=\"1953\">The only sector with an increase: hospitality (+6.3%).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 data-start=\"1955\" data-end=\"1999\"><strong data-start=\"1960\" data-end=\"1997\">Contracting and employment quality<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul data-start=\"2000\" data-end=\"2651\">\n<li data-start=\"2000\" data-end=\"2081\">Total contracts: 23,854 in February, a 3.4% year-on-year decrease.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2082\" data-end=\"2156\">Monthly evolution: 2,249 more contracts than in January (+11.4%).<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2157\" data-end=\"2303\">Differences by island:\n<ul data-start=\"2190\" data-end=\"2303\">\n<li data-start=\"2190\" data-end=\"2267\">Increased in Formentera (+48.4%), Menorca (+15.1%), and Mallorca (+13.3%).<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2270\" data-end=\"2303\">Decreased in Ibiza (-1.4%).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2304\" data-end=\"2439\">By demographic groups:\n<ul data-start=\"2330\" data-end=\"2439\">\n<li data-start=\"2330\" data-end=\"2439\">Greatest increases among men (+11.5%), those under 25 (+16.2%), and EU foreign nationals (+21.7%).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2440\" data-end=\"2577\">By sectors:\n<ul data-start=\"2464\" data-end=\"2577\">\n<li data-start=\"2464\" data-end=\"2577\">Contracting increased across all sectors, especially in hospitality (+34.2%) and industry (+11.4%).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2578\" data-end=\"2651\">Rate of permanent contracts: 66.8%, the highest in Spain.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 data-start=\"2653\" data-end=\"2697\"><strong data-start=\"2658\" data-end=\"2695\">Self-Employed workers and job seekers<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul data-start=\"2698\" data-end=\"3002\">\n<li data-start=\"2698\" data-end=\"2767\">Self-employed: 99,396 registered, a 2.6% year-on-year increase.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2768\" data-end=\"2914\">Job seekers:\n<ul data-start=\"2801\" data-end=\"2914\">\n<li data-start=\"2801\" data-end=\"2867\">122,975 people, 5.5% more than in February 2023.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2870\" data-end=\"2914\">14,618 fewer than in January (-10.6%).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2915\" data-end=\"3002\">Unemployment benefit coverage rate: 42.1%, 0.8 points lower than a year ago.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 data-start=\"3004\" data-end=\"3040\"><strong data-start=\"3009\" data-end=\"3038\">Women and the labour market<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul data-start=\"3041\" data-end=\"3767\">\n<li data-start=\"3041\" data-end=\"3120\">Growth in female employment: +3.8% compared to 3.2% for men.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3121\" data-end=\"3171\">Women represent 46.9% of total affiliations.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3172\" data-end=\"3250\">Female activity rate: 74.5%, the second highest in Spain.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3251\" data-end=\"3341\">Gender pay gap: 7.5% (second lowest in the country, compared to the 17.1% national average).<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3342\" data-end=\"3442\">Largest salary increases:\n<ul data-start=\"3384\" data-end=\"3442\">\n<li data-start=\"3384\" data-end=\"3442\">+16.6% for women compared to 8.7% for men.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3443\" data-end=\"3558\">Part-time employment rate: 73.6% of part-time contracts are held by women due to work-life balance needs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>According to Cabrer, &#8220;the data reflects a trend towards equality, with unemployment figures for men and women becoming increasingly similar.&#8221; She highlighted that &#8220;women represent 57% of the unemployed, but with a sharper decline in female unemployment (-10.0% versus -5.8% for
