With this plan, the Government seeks to prevent the exodus of <em>start-ups<\/em> from Mallorca, mainly due to the lack of a funding network, as <a href=\"https:\/\/mallorcaglobalmag.es\/en\/startups-en-mallorca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Mallorca Global Mag<\/em> reported in its Winter 2024-25 edition<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"108\" data-end=\"511\">IBstartups 2025 is being developed in coordination with the <strong>National Entrepreneurship Office<\/strong> (ONE) as part of the <strong>Spain Entrepreneurial Nation<\/strong> strategy and aims to <strong>position the Balearic Islands<\/strong> as a <strong>benchmark in supporting new innovative businesses<\/strong>. The project has <strong>four main objectives<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"513\" data-end=\"818\">Facilitate investment in the early stages of <em>start-ups<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"513\" data-end=\"818\">Provide greater security and information to private investors.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"513\" data-end=\"818\">Connect acceleration projects with potential financiers.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"513\" data-end=\"818\">Promote the growth of emerging companies in the region.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-start=\"820\" data-end=\"1458\">Core pillars of IBstartups 2025<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"820\" data-end=\"1458\">To achieve these goals, the action plan outlines various strategies focused on <strong>three main pillars<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"820\" data-end=\"1458\">Firstly, information and communication through specific innovation workshops and training sessions on marketing, funding, and leadership, alongside specialised mentoring in methodologies such as Grip, Fail Fast, and Learn Faster.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"820\" data-end=\"1458\">Secondly, the promotion of events and networking opportunities like &#8220;Pitch and Connect&#8221; and an idea lab, where entrepreneurs can present their projects to investors.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"820\" data-end=\"1458\">Finally, practical workshops will be held to strengthen learning and better prepare entrepreneurs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div id=\"attachment_117615\" style=\"width: 790px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-117615\" class=\"size-full wp-image-117615\" src=\"https:\/\/mallorcaglobalmag.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Jose-Antonio-Caldes.webp\" alt=\"The Director General for Commerce, Self-Employment and Business, Jos\u00e9 Antonio Cald\u00e9s\" width=\"780\" height=\"585\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-117615\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Director General for Commerce, Self-Employment and Business, Jos\u00e9 Antonio Cald\u00e9s. Photo: CAIB.<\/p><\/div>\n<p data-start=\"1460\" data-end=\"1823\">The Director General for Commerce, Self-Employment and Business, Jos\u00e9 Antonio Cald\u00e9s, pointed out that one of the main challenges faced by <em>start-ups<\/em> in the Balearic Islands is the lack of early-stage investment, which forces many to relocate to other regions in search of funding, leading to a loss of talent and opportunities in the archipelago.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1825\" data-end=\"2176\">Cald\u00e9s also highlighted the need to strengthen the connection between investors and the local entrepreneurial ecosystem: &#8220;There is also a lack of awareness among investors on how to approach or get to know the start-up ecosystem in the Balearic Islands.
