Most cases were related to <strong>medical emergencies, traffic accidents, fights, assaults, and domestic accidents<\/strong>. On average, 112 managed <strong>373 incidents per day<\/strong>, with the highest volume recorded in <strong>July and August<\/strong>, when the number of calls exceeded <strong>3,000 per day<\/strong>. Photo: CAIB.<\/p><\/div>\n<p data-start=\"1100\" data-end=\"1297\">Medical emergencies accounted for <strong>33% of cases<\/strong>, followed by <strong>traffic accidents (5.1%)<\/strong>, fights (<strong>4.4%<\/strong>), physical assaults (<strong>3.5%<\/strong>), and domestic accidents (<strong>3%<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1299\" data-end=\"1483\">Regarding <strong>languages<\/strong>, <strong>72.33%<\/strong> of calls were attended in Spanish, <strong>21.28% in Catalan<\/strong>, and <strong>6.07% in other languages<\/strong> such as English, German, French, and Italian.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1299\" data-end=\"1483\">Meanwhile, the <strong>emergency psychological support service<\/strong> was activated on <strong>289 occasions<\/strong> in 2024, marking a <strong>27.8% increase<\/strong> compared to the previous year. This is attributed to the strengthening of the agreement with the <strong>College of Psychologists of the Balearic Islands<\/strong>, which allowed for an increase in the number of professionals available: <strong>10 in Mallorca, 5 in Menorca, 6 in Ibiza, and 3 in Formentera<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1299\" data-end=\"1483\">The 112 service also received <strong>186,416 non-emergency calls<\/strong>, representing a <strong>34% reduction<\/strong> compared to 2023. Most of these were due to <strong>dialling errors or calls generated by the telephone network<\/strong>, although <strong>1,856 were prank calls<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"2193\" data-end=\"2248\"><strong>Greater accuracy in call location<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2250\" data-end=\"2626\">One of the most significant advancements in 2024 has been the introduction of <strong>advanced mobile location (AML)<\/strong>, used in <strong>60% of calls made from national Android mobile phones<\/strong>.
