From <strong>11:00 am<\/strong>, attendees will enjoy a <strong>varied programme<\/strong> to welcome the <strong>Year of the Snake<\/strong> in a <strong>colourful, festive, and family-friendly atmosphere<\/strong>. This highly anticipated celebration is organised by the <strong>Chinese Association of the Balearic Islands (<a href=\"https:\/\/achinib.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Achinib<\/a>)<\/strong> in collaboration with <strong>Palma City Council<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_104132\" style=\"width: 790px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-104132\" class=\"wp-image-104132 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/mallorcaglobalmag.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG-20221019-WA0010-e1738079475865.webp\" alt=\"Chinese New Year in Palma\" width=\"780\" height=\"520\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-104132\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Chinese New Year in Palma. Photo: Achinib.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Among the planned activities, there will be <strong>workshops and traditional activities<\/strong>, allowing participants to immerse themselves in the <strong>richness of Chinese culture<\/strong>, as well as various performances that combine <strong>traditional dances and unique cultural expressions<\/strong>. Additionally, a selection of <strong>typical Chinese cuisine<\/strong> will offer the chance to enjoy the <strong>authentic flavours<\/strong> of this vibrant celebration.<\/p>\n<h3>Kung Fu, Tai Chi, K-pop, and Fire Run<\/h3>\n<p>The day will feature highlights such as the <strong>lion and dragon dances<\/strong> by Achinib, the <strong>Xiang Wang Xing<\/strong> dance performed by students of the <strong>Huayue Educational Centre<\/strong>, <strong>Kung Fu exhibitions<\/strong> by the <strong>Centre for Oriental Arts Research<\/strong>, and a <strong>violin concert<\/strong> by the <strong>Vivace Orchestra of Estudio Baus\u00e1<\/strong>. There will also be a performance blending <strong>Tai Chi and Flamenco<\/strong>, presented by the <strong>S\u2019Olivera Association of Son Cotoner<\/strong>, as well as a medley of traditional dances, such as the <strong>Tibetan Kumara<\/strong> dance, with <strong>Tang music<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Between <strong>1:40 pm and 4:00 pm<\/strong>, there will be a break in performances, but the celebration will continue with various <strong>food stalls<\/strong> around the square and <strong>games throughout the day<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In the afternoon, the Chinese New Year 2025 celebration will feature <strong>K-pop performances<\/strong> and a parade starring the <strong>gegants of Son Rapinya<\/strong>, who will march through the square from <strong>7:30 pm<\/strong>, among other activities. To close this cultural event, a spectacular <strong>fire run<\/strong> is scheduled for <strong>8:00 pm<\/strong>, providing a thrilling finale to this festival.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>The Year of the Snake<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Chinese New Year marks the arrival of the new zodiac cycle, consisting of <strong>12 animals<\/strong>. The year 2025 will be the <strong>Year of the Snake<\/strong>, which holds the sixth position in the sequence.
