According to the announcement made by the <strong>Consell de Mallorca<\/strong> and the airline during the Fitur trade fair, the <strong>route<\/strong> will feature a <strong>more than 50% increase in available seats<\/strong>, will operate <strong>one month longer<\/strong> than in 2024\u2014until <strong>24 October<\/strong>\u2014and will <strong>increase the weekly flight frequency<\/strong> from <strong>three to four<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_116762\" style=\"width: 790px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-116762\" class=\"size-full wp-image-116762\" src=\"https:\/\/mallorcaglobalmag.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Presentacion-vuelo-United-Airlines-Nueva-York-Palma-2025.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"780\" height=\"520\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-116762\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Presentation of United&#8217;s Palma-New York direct flight for 2025. Photo: Consell de Mallorca.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Additionally, the Palma-New York direct flight will use <strong>Boeing 767-400 aircraft<\/strong>, offering <strong>greater capacity and comfort<\/strong> for passengers. Unlike the Boeing 767-300, this model features <strong>34 Polaris SM business class seats<\/strong>, <strong>24 Premium Plus SM seats<\/strong>, <strong>48 Economy Plus SM seats<\/strong>, and <strong>125 economy class seats<\/strong>, catering to a variety of traveller preferences.<\/p>\n<h3>Palma-New York direct flight: a commitment to transatlantic connectivity<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Antonio de Toro<\/strong>, United Airlines\u2019 sales manager, highlighted the <strong>importance<\/strong> of this route, which remains the <strong>only connection between Mallorca and the United States<\/strong> since its launch in <strong>2022<\/strong>. During this time, the global seat offering on this route has grown by over <strong>75%<\/strong>. &#8220;Our customers in Mallorca will now benefit from more time and <strong>more travel options to visit New York City<\/strong>, as well as an unrivalled network of routes from United\u2019s hub at New York\/Newark, offering seamless connections to <strong>58 destinations across the Americas<\/strong>,&#8221; he remarked.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the President of the Consell de Mallorca, <strong>Lloren\u00e7 Galm\u00e9s<\/strong>, positively valued this improvement, particularly the <strong>extension of the route<\/strong> into October, aiming to ensure that such connections are not limited &#8220;to the summer months&#8221;. &#8220;This represents <strong>greater mobility<\/strong> for both <strong>leisure and work<\/strong>, eliminating the need to stop over in other cities on the continent, which adds inconvenience and cost. Ultimately, it opens up <strong>new opportunities<\/strong> for residents and contributes to <strong>economic growth<\/strong>,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<h3>United Airlines\u2019 historic expansion<\/h3>\n<p>The extension of the Palma-New York route is part of <strong>United Airlines\u2019 most ambitious international expansion plan<\/strong>, which will add new destinations in 2025 such as <strong>Nuuk (Greenland), Palermo, Bilbao, and the islands of Madeira and Faro<\/strong>.
