This measure was approved by the <strong>Board of Directors of the Municipal Society of Parking and Projects SA<\/strong> (SMAP) to <strong>promote sustainable mobility<\/strong> and broaden access for <strong>more users<\/strong>, according to SMAP sources.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-116649 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/mallorcaglobalmag.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Bicipalma.webp\" alt=\"Bicipalma station\" width=\"780\" height=\"520\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Lifting the registration restriction is part of a <strong>package of improvements<\/strong> that also includes <strong>technological innovations<\/strong> to enhance user experience.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Reserve bikes via the mobile app<\/strong>. This system allows users to secure a bicycle for up to 10 minutes, provided the reservation feature is enabled at the selected station.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Overflow system<\/strong>. This feature will allow users to return bicycles at full stations by activating temporary docking spaces, eliminating the need to search for distant alternatives to complete their journey.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Service Expansion with New Stations<\/h3>\n<p>Bicipalma plans further expansion by installing <strong>nine new stations in the first half of 2025<\/strong>, extending service to the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB). Of these, three will be located along the Valldemossa Road and in Son Sardina, while six will be distributed across the university campus.
