This new centre, located in the <strong>Son Bugadelles industrial estate<\/strong>, will allow up to <strong>9,000 inspections per month<\/strong>, <strong>doubling the capacity of the old mobile station<\/strong> in the area, aiming to <strong>significantly reduce<\/strong> the<strong> waiting lists<\/strong> on the island.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_116142\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-116142\" src=\"https:\/\/mallorcaglobalmag.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Estacion-ITV-Calvia-6.webp\" alt=\"ITV Station in Calvi\u00e0\" width=\"780\" height=\"520\" \/><figcaption>Lloren\u00e7 Galm\u00e9s during the inauguration of the new ITV station in Calvi\u00e0. Photo: Consell de Mallorca.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The project, which required an investment of <strong>\u20ac1.9 million<\/strong>, features <strong>four inspection lanes<\/strong> for <strong>cars<\/strong>, <strong>two<\/strong> for <strong>heavy vehicles<\/strong>, and <strong>one<\/strong> for <strong>motorbikes<\/strong>. The land was provided by the Ajuntament de Calvi\u00e0 to the Consell de Mallorca under an administrative concession, including an <strong>annual fee of \u20ac100,000<\/strong> for the <strong>first ten years<\/strong>. The concession has a term of <strong>35 years<\/strong>, extendable to 50 years.<\/p>\n<h3>650,000 Annual Inspections in Mallorca<\/h3>\n<p>During the opening ceremony, Galm\u00e9s emphasised that this facility is part of the plan to increase inspection capacity across Mallorca. &#8220;With the new ITV contract for the next two years, we expect to increase from <strong>480,000<\/strong> annual inspections in 2024 to <strong>650,000 in 2025<\/strong>,&#8221; he stated. He also celebrated the <strong>reduction in waiting lists<\/strong>, with appointments already available in <strong>January and February<\/strong> this year.<\/p>\n<p>The Consell de Mallorca has also launched a <strong>new website<\/strong>, <a href=\"http:\/\/ITV.Mallorca.es\" target=\"_new\" rel=\"noopener\">ITV.Mallorca.es<\/a>, allowing users to book appointments and make payments online, streamlining the process by eliminating the need to visit the offices before the inspection.<\/p>\n<p>The new contract, definitively awarded in November to <strong>ITV Vega Baja<\/strong> after resolving various legal challenges, is valued at <strong>\u20ac33 million<\/strong> for the <strong>next two years<\/strong>.
