Citizens from all over the world arrive in Mallorca and end up putting down roots on the island. A global community living together in Mallorca, where there is an ever-increasing mix of cultures and nationalities. As in every edition, Mallorca Global Mag<\/em> hits the streets to talk to some of its most international residents and learn their stories.<\/p>\n

\"Esteban<\/p>\n

Names<\/strong>: Esteban Lisiotti, Kevin Lisciotto, and Dami\u00e1n Salazar.
\nCountry of origin<\/strong>: Argentina and Ecuador.
\nTime in Mallorca<\/strong>: 11 years \/ 6 months \/ 20 years.
\nProfession<\/strong>: Cooks and waiters.<\/p>\n

Esteban Lisiotti, Kevin Lisciotto, and Dami\u00e1n Salazar have made Mallorca their home, working together at the Santa Catalina Market. Esteban, originally from C\u00f3rdoba, Argentina, has been on the island for over a decade as a cook. His cousin Kevin arrived four months ago with his family seeking a change of life and now works as a waiter. Kevin is delighted with the island, though concerned about the high cost of housing. Dami\u00e1n, from Ecuador, has been here for more than 20 years and works alongside them. He values the quality of life but notes that inflation is increasingly affecting it.<\/p>\n

\"Manuela<\/p>\n

Name<\/strong>: Manuela Abbate.
\nCountry of origin<\/strong>: Italy.
\nTime in Mallorca<\/strong>: 8 years.
\nProfession<\/strong>: CCS researcher.<\/p>\n

Manuela was born in Naples. After spending 10 years in London and another 7 in Milan, she felt the need to leave big cities while continuing her passion for research. \u201cThe city of Palma is the perfect size for me; within less than half an hour, I can be in nature or at one of its beautiful coves, and that is quality of life.\u201d Now, Manuela works with one of the research groups at the Universitat de les Illes Balears.<\/p>\n

\"Thomas<\/p>\n

Name<\/strong>: Thomas Llalemand.
\nCountry of origin<\/strong>: R\u00e9union (France).
\nTime in Mallorca<\/strong>: 12 years.
\nProfession<\/strong>: Teacher, artist, and philologist.<\/p>\n

Thomas was born on the island of R\u00e9union. Twelve years ago, he arrived in Palma, where he works as a robotics teacher at Tecnoaprendo. With an academic background in Hispanic philology, living in Mallorca has given him the opportunity to deepen his \u201cgreat passion\u201d: Spanish culture. Additionally, Thomas has developed a board game called *Lyrik*, which he hopes will soon be available in stores.<\/p>\n

\"Constanze<\/p>\n

Name<\/strong>: Constanze Waeger.
\nCountry of origin<\/strong>: Germany.
\nTime in Mallorca<\/strong>: 12 years.
\nProfession<\/strong>: Artist.<\/p>\n

Constanze was born in Munich, moved to England, and first came to Mallorca 30 years ago. She lived in the U.S. and returned with her daughter 12 years ago. \u201cI love that everything is close by, the weather is good, you can travel anywhere from here, and life is easy.\u201d As an artist, Mallorca is perfect for her profession. \"Tiguida<\/p>\n

Name<\/strong>: Tiguida Gassama.
\nCountry of origin<\/strong>: Senegal.
\nTime in Mallorca<\/strong>: 19 years.
\nProfession<\/strong>: Cleaner and cook.<\/p>\n

Tiguida, originally from Senegal, landed in Mallorca to be with her family, and 19 years have passed since her arrival. \u201cWhat I love most about Mallorca is the people; I\u2019m delighted with everyone. I\u2019m very happy to be here; I\u2019ve met wonderful people,\u201d she shares. Regarding her work experiences, she says, \u201cEveryone has been good to me. I carry them all in my heart.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"Margarita<\/p>\n

Name<\/strong>: Margarita Jim\u00e9nez.
\nCountry of origin<\/strong>: Bolivia.
\nTime in Mallorca<\/strong>: 2 years.
\nProfession<\/strong>: Real estate agent.<\/p>\n

Margarita was born in Bolivia but obtained Spanish nationality 24 years ago. She also lived in Germany for nearly two decades. \u201cI\u2019m here for the sun, good energy, and the people. Mallorca is very well-connected to places I enjoy visiting, like London and the U.S., so I\u2019m thrilled to live on this beautiful island,\u201d she tells us.<\/p>\n
