The Fira de sa Perdiu<\/strong> 2024 in Montu\u00efri<\/strong>, one of the most iconic events in Mallorca, will take place on Sunday, 1st December<\/strong>. This traditional Mallorcan fair, now in its 45th edition<\/strong>, attracts thousands of visitors<\/strong> annually. It is more than just an agricultural and livestock event: it is a true celebration of local culture and traditions, offering attendees a wide variety of activities throughout the day.<\/p>\n

Since its revival in the 1980s, the Fira de sa Perdiu<\/strong> has stood out for its uniqueness. Unlike other fairs on the island, its main event is the Partridge Call Contest (Concurs de Perdius de Reclam)<\/strong>, organised by the Societat de Ca\u00e7adors de Montu\u00efri. This contest celebrates an ancient hunting tradition requiring skill, patience, and expertise, where caged partridges, placed in elevated positions, must attract other partridges with their call. This unique event draws enthusiasts from across the island and captures the curiosity of visitors who come to Montu\u00efri each year to witness this fascinating activity.<\/p>\n

As is tradition, one of the most anticipated moments will be the award ceremony for the Concurs de Perdius de Reclam<\/strong>. At 1:30 pm, the winners of this renowned competition will be announced. The award ceremony marks the grand finale of a day filled with traditions, celebrations, and a strong sense of community that defines the Fira de sa Perdiu.<\/p>\n

A week full of activities<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In the days leading up to Sunday\u2019s main event, the Fira de sa Perdiu 2024 will begin filling Montu\u00efri with cultural and gastronomic activities. For example, on Friday, 29th November, wine enthusiasts will have the opportunity to join an exclusive wine tasting<\/strong> of Portassa wines at the Celler de Can Rei, offering a perfect combination of local flavours and the welcoming atmosphere of Montu\u00efri.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, 30th November, the fair truly comes to life with an even more varied programme. At 11:00 am, the archaeological site of Son Forn\u00e9s will host a Talayotic cooking workshop<\/strong>, ideal for those keen to explore Mallorca\u2019s ancient culinary heritage. Later, at 7:00 pm, several exhibitions<\/strong> will open at different iconic venues around the town, including the works of Pepe Aguilar and Gaizka Taro at Cas Retratista and traditional handwoven chairs by Pep Alfredo at La Rectoria. To end the day, the Pla\u00e7a Major will host a concert by Andreu Galm\u00e9s Jazz Trio<\/strong>, accompanied by tapas and pinchos that showcase the rich culinary traditions of the island.<\/p>\n

A Sporting Finale<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The fair concludes with sporting activities, including the Half Marathon<\/strong> on 6th December and the Cyclocross Race CX Montu\u00efri<\/strong> on 7th December, inviting participants of all ages to enjoy sports and nature.<\/p>\n
