The Government of the Balearic Islands<\/strong> has completed its aid operation<\/strong> in the areas affected by the DANA<\/strong> that devastated the Valencian Community<\/strong> on 29 October<\/strong>. A total of 244 people and 49 vehicles<\/strong> were deployed to participate in rescue and rehabilitation tasks<\/strong> in the municipalities of Benet\u00fasser, Sedav\u00ed, Alfafar, and Llocnou de la Corona<\/strong>, part of sector 3 in zone 0. The last contingent returned to the islands on Saturday, 16 November<\/strong>, marking the end of an operation that highlights the Balearic Government’s commitment to inter-territorial emergency support.<\/p>\n

From the first contingent sent on 3 November<\/strong>, comprising 66 people and 25 vehicles<\/strong>, and with rotations carried out on 6 and 11 November<\/strong> with personnel from all four islands, a human and technical team was deployed. This operation was managed by the Directorate General for Emergencies and Interior<\/strong> of the Balearic Government in coordination with the CENEM and CECOPI<\/strong> of the Generalitat Valenciana. Additionally, a team of five people<\/strong> from Palma coordinated the logistics operation and organised staff rotations<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Tasks carried out<\/h3>\n

The deployed personnel undertook water extraction from garages and underpasses<\/strong>, street and sewage cleaning<\/strong>, and the investigation<\/strong> of potential victims in vehicles and buildings<\/strong>, including an affected hotel. They also provided medical assistance to the local population and the contingent itself<\/strong>. These tasks were carried out in close collaboration with the Firefighters of the Valencia Consortium<\/strong> and the Military Emergency Unit<\/strong> (UME).<\/p>\n

The operation involved 22 organisations<\/strong>, including emergency services and firefighters from the four island councils<\/strong>, the IBANAT<\/strong>, the SAMU 061<\/strong>, civil protection associations<\/strong> from various municipalities, and the Official College of Psychologists of the Balearic Islands<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
