Photo: CAIB.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The <strong>Government of the Balearic Islands<\/strong> has inaugurated the region\u2019s <strong>largest ultra-fast electric vehicle charging hub<\/strong> operated by <strong>Endesa<\/strong>, featuring a total of <strong>22 charging points<\/strong> with an installed capacity of <strong>988 kW<\/strong>. This facility, located in the <strong>outdoor car park<\/strong> of the <strong>Mallorca Fashion Outlet in Marratx\u00ed<\/strong>, is a pioneering infrastructure aimed at promoting electric mobility and contributing to the region&#8217;s decarbonisation objectives.<\/p>\n<p>The new electric vehicle charging hub include <strong>4 ultra-fast charging bays<\/strong> of 300 kW, <strong>10 super-fast charging bays<\/strong> of 60 kW, and <strong>8 semi-fast charging bays<\/strong> equipped with 22 kW chargers. This infrastructure allows electric vehicle users to choose between <strong>different charging speeds<\/strong> according to their needs: in just <strong>5 to 15 minutes<\/strong> with ultra-fast chargers, between <strong>30 to 60 minutes<\/strong> with fast chargers, and between <strong>2 to 4 hours<\/strong> for semi-fast charging to reach <strong>80% of the battery<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>New electric vehicle charging points, key to decarbonisation<\/h2>\n<p>The inauguration event was attended by the Minister of Business, Employment, and Energy, Alejandro S\u00e1enz de San Pedro; the Director of the Balearic Institute of Energy (IBE), Hernando Rayo; the Mayor of Marratx\u00ed, Jaume Llompart; the Marketing Director of VIA Outlets in Spain, Jorge P\u00e9rez de Zabalza; and Endesa\u2019s Managing Director in the Balearics, Mart\u00ed Ribas.<\/p>\n<p>During the ceremony, Minister S\u00e1enz de San Pedro highlighted that \u201cactions like these align with the Government\u2019s goals to <strong>advance decarbonisation<\/strong>. In the Balearic Islands, approximately <strong>85% of energy comes from fossil fuels<\/strong>, while <strong>15% is generated from renewables<\/strong>.
