A 65% of hosts in Mallorca support the implementation of tourism regulations<\/strong> that balance the island’s growth as a holiday destination with the well-being of local residents. The study, conducted by the holiday rental portal Holidu,<\/strong><\/a> which gathered opinions from over 800 property owners across the country, reveals that the majority of respondents in Mallorca believe that proper regulation can benefit both residents and holiday rental owners.<\/p>\n

More restrictive tourism regulations<\/h3>\n

Additionally, 9% of owners believe stricter regulations should be applied<\/strong> to mitigate the negative effects that mass tourism can have on communities, such as gentrification or rising living costs. On the other hand, 18% of respondents do not have a clear opinion on tourism regulations.<\/p>\n

\"Holiday<\/p>\n

Impact of protests against mass tourism<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Protests against mass tourism, held during the summer months, have not had a significant impact on the holiday rental business, according to 46% of surveyed owners. However, a small percentage (8%) indicated that the protests did affect their operations, suggesting that, while the demonstrations gained media attention, their economic impact was limited.<\/p>\n

Perception of tourism and autumn\/winter outlook<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The study also highlights that 66% of owners consider the flow of tourists to the island to be “reasonable”, while 34% perceive it as “high”. As the autumn and winter season progresses, holiday rental owners are adjusting their expectations for future bookings, with 33% anticipating an increase and 69% planning to keep their rates unchanged.
\nTourism regulation in Mallorca remains a topic of debate, with the majority of property owners in favour of an approach that balances economic growth with the protection of local communities. The outlook for the low season is moderately optimistic, and the island continues to be an attractive destination for travellers, although it faces the challenge of managing tourism sustainably.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
