The President of the Government of the Balearic Islands, Margalida Prohens, has marked a new milestone in the islands’ energy innovation by attending the launch of Spain’s first hydrogen pipeline, located in Cas Tresorer. This pioneering infrastructure, built by the company Redexis, will allow the transportation of green hydrogen from the Lloseta plant to the natural gas network, making possible the first injection of this clean energy in the country.<\/p>\n

This advancement will supply a mix of green hydrogen and natural gas to more than 115,000 households and 2,000 businesses and industries in the Balearic Islands, providing more sustainable and environmentally friendly energy. \u201cThe production of hydrogen and the construction of infrastructures like this hydrogen pipeline place us at the forefront of the Mediterranean in terms of innovation and energy transition,\u201d Prohens highlighted.<\/p>\n

The President was accompanied by prominent officials such as the Minister of Business, Employment, and Energy, Alejandro S\u00e1enz de San Pedro; the Mayor of Palma, Jaime Mart\u00ednez; and Redexis CEO, Fidel L\u00f3pez Soria, among others. They all emphasized the importance of this project in advancing towards a more sustainable energy model, positioning the Balearic Islands as a benchmark in the fight against climate change.<\/p>\n

This project represents a crucial step in the islands\u2019 commitment to renewable energy, reinforcing the Balearic Islands’ leadership in the transition towards a green economy in Spain and the Mediterranean.<\/p>\n
