The eastern Mediterranean area, including the Balearic Islands, remains under the influence of a DANA, which will continue to bring storm alerts and heavy rainfall to the archipelago this Friday, 16th August, according to the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET).<\/p>\n
All of the Balearic Islands are at risk due to the storms, with particular attention on the Serra de Tramuntana and the north of Mallorca, where accumulated rainfall is expected to reach up to 35 mm in an hour. This weather phenomenon has authorities and emergency services on high alert to respond to potential flooding and other incidents resulting from the heavy rains.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the rest of the peninsula will experience stable weather, with clear or slightly cloudy skies. However, instability will be concentrated in the Mediterranean area, particularly along the coasts of Catalonia, the Cabo de la Nao area in Alicante, and, of course, in the Balearic Islands, where locally strong showers and storms are expected.<\/p>\n
