On Sunday, August 11<\/strong>, Sencelles<\/strong> will come alive with a new edition<\/strong> of the much-anticipated Embala’t 2024<\/strong>, as part of the Festes de la Mare de D\u00e9u d’Agost<\/a><\/strong>. This unique celebration, known for its peculiar battle<\/strong> where straw and water<\/strong> become harmless projectiles<\/strong>, will feature a new addition this year: a train<\/strong> that, along with the classic mobylettes<\/strong>, will accompany participants in collecting the two huge straw bales at Pou Major<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

La Capta de l’Embala’t 2024<\/h2>\n

The day before, on Saturday, August 10<\/strong>, the Embala’t 2024 festivities will kick off at 11:30 AM<\/strong> in Pla\u00e7a de la Vila<\/strong> with the Inici de la Capta de l\u2019Embala\u2019t<\/strong>. This event will feature the plantada and dance<\/strong> of the gegants<\/em> Tamborino and Mustaca<\/strong>, accompanied by the music of the xeremiers<\/em> from the group Es Capoll Llarg<\/strong>. Additionally, the appearance of the Dimoni<\/em> de Sencelles Dembolat<\/strong>, along with the hoisting<\/strong> of Na Fideva<\/strong> and the Embala’t flag<\/strong>, will mark the official start of this famous festivity in the Pla de Mallorca town.<\/p>\n

At 5:30 PM<\/strong>, in the same square, children can enjoy the presentation of the local collection<\/strong> Es Patinador<\/strong><\/em>, which will include the second volume dedicated to the Festa de l’Embala’t<\/strong>. Half an hour later, the traditional Festa Infantil<\/strong>, animated by the group Cucorba<\/strong>, will fill the afternoon with joy and fun.<\/p>\n

The Saturday festivities will conclude at 8:30 PM<\/strong> with the Concert de la Mare de D\u00e9u d’Agost<\/strong>, performed by the Coral Sor Francinaina<\/strong>, followed by the presentation of the III Premi Literari “Vila de Sencelles”<\/strong> in the Esgl\u00e9sia Parroquial de Sant Pere.<\/p>\n

A celebration with a unique style<\/h2>\n

Finally, on Sunday at 12 noon<\/strong>, the most awaited moment<\/strong> will arrive: the Embala\u2019t celebration itself. With its characteristic protocol and unique style<\/strong>, this event will include the preg\u00f3n<\/strong>, music by the xeremies<\/em><\/strong>, participation of the garbejadors<\/em><\/strong>, games with mobylette<\/strong>, the train<\/strong>, a dinar de fideus de roter<\/em><\/strong>, the collection of the straw bales<\/strong>, and of course, the traditional battle of straw and water<\/strong> that will delight all attendees.
