Water reserves<\/strong> in the Balearic Islands<\/strong> fell to 46%<\/strong> of their capacity during the past month of July, representing a decrease<\/strong> of 4%<\/strong> compared to June<\/strong> and 9 percentage points<\/strong> below the same period last year, when reserves were at 55%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nThis situation requires strict monitoring and rigorous management of water resources<\/strong>, according to the Balearic Government, as it is the fourth consecutive month<\/strong> of declining water reserves in the archipelago. And the forecasts<\/strong> indicate that, considering the current situation, the time of year and the precipitation in July, it is likely<\/strong> that during the month of August<\/strong> the reserves will continue to decrease in the Balearic Islands<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Formentera enters alert<\/h2>\n

Additionally, last July saw an alarming change in the scenario<\/strong>, as the Demand Unit<\/strong> (UD) of Formentera<\/strong> has entered an alert scenario<\/strong>. Meanwhile, the other nine UDs (Menorca, Art\u00e0, Manacor-Felanitx, Migjorn, es Pla, Palma-Alc\u00fadia, Northern Tramuntana, Southern Tramuntana and Ibiza<\/strong>) remain in a pre-alert scenario<\/strong>.
\nRegarding the evolution of the index<\/strong>, all UDs<\/strong> have registered a decrease in their reserves<\/strong>. The general situation of the demarcation is 0.365<\/strong>, a lower figure<\/strong> than last year (0.546) and two years ago (0.459).<\/p>\n

Water reserves by island<\/h2>\n

In terms of reserves by island<\/strong>, Mallorca<\/strong> has decreased from 50% to 47%<\/strong>, Menorca<\/strong> from 50% to 44%<\/strong> and Ibiza<\/strong> from 35% to 32%<\/strong>. The overall situation in the Balearic Islands is worse than a year ago, when the reserves were at 55%.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
