Every August, the town of Sineu fills with life and colour with its eagerly awaited festivities in honour of the Mare de D\u00e9u d’Agost. The Festes d’Agost 2024 in Sineu, which begin on Friday the 2nd and end on Saturday the 17th of August, are a meeting point for residents and visitors looking to enjoy a wide range of cultural and festive activities.<\/p>\n

The Festes d’Agost 2024 in Sineu offers street parties, concerts, folklore events and cultural and sporting activities for all ages. They are a vibrant display of culture and fun, where tradition and humour intertwine to create a unique and memorable experience for all those who attend.<\/p>\n

La Mucada reaches its 21st edition<\/h2>\n

Once again this year, the streets of Sineu will be filled with pink for the XXI Mucada, which will be held on Monday the 12th of August. Based on the legend of Lo Much de Reig, tradition says that a bull will guide whoever goes round three times with olive oil in his mouth to a treasure. An outstanding event is the procession of the meeting between the Muc and the Muca in the Pla\u00e7a d’Es Fossar. The festivity is distinguished by its humour, with parodies of festivals, people and everyday situations, creating an eclectic and geeky atmosphere. La Mucada is a special opportunity for the community to share joy and tradition in a comical and festive tone, with pink as the official colour.<\/p>\n

The celebration of La Mucada, although fascinating and full of humour, faces growing concerns about its overcrowding, exceeding the expectations of organisers and the community year after year. An \u2018SOS Mucada\u2019 has emerged to warn about the negative effects of the mass influx, such as overcrowding and incivility, affecting the Ajuntament, the Muchal Foundation and the neighbours. They therefore appeal to individual conscience to balance fun with respect for the community and the environment.<\/p>\n
