Playa de Muro is one of the latest to join this campaign, marking an important milestone in raising awareness of the dangers of smoking and the importance of keeping the coasts free of litter.<\/p>\n<p>This list of beaches where smoking is &#8216;forbidden&#8217; in Mallorca aims to contribute to the fight against tobacco consumption, especially among young people. In the Balearic Islands, the network of smoke-free beaches now totals 50, exceeding the expectations of the previous campaign. This action also aims to raise public awareness of the importance of keeping natural spaces clean. The signs installed at the entrances to these beaches inform users about this special classification and invite them to collaborate in the preservation of smoke-free beaches. Tobacco waste pollutes the environment and poses a threat to marine life. Cigarette butts are one of the most common forms of marine litter and contain a variety of toxic chemicals that poison our oceans. In this sense, marking these beaches as smoke-free not only benefits non-smokers, but also promotes greater coexistence and respect for the natural environment.<\/p>\n<p>Smoke-free beaches is a health and environmental protection programme that was launched in 2019. It aims to promote and enhance healthy lifestyles and the benefits of a life without tobacco with the implementation of smoke-free beaches and waste.
