The workshop, which will take place between April 18th and 20th, will bring together American travel agents and companies, professionals and organizations in the tourism sector and promotional agencies from the government
The deadline for registration ends today and Mallorca is set to become the hub for marketing Spanish destinations to US and Canadian markets.
There is great excitement in the tourism industry to attract tourists from the US and Canada, especially after the launch of direct flights by United Airlines between New York and Mallorca and Tenerife airports last season. In addition, the US airline announced in October that it is adding another non-stop route to Malaga, starting from June.
Participants must pay a fee of €1,900 to participate in the promotional event. During the workshop, presentations will be made on the American markets, a minimum number of meetings with travel agents will be guaranteed, and companies and government agencies can make presentations.
United Airlines not only maintained the direct route between Palma and New York, but it is advancing the route by a week and extending it another: from May 25th to September 26th, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, from Newark airport, and from May 26th to September 27th, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from Son Sant Joan.
New York Tourism Counsellor, José Manuel de Juan, noted last October the rapid recovery of tourism from the US and Canada starting from last May, so expectations of capturing more market share from these markets are very high.
