The posthumous film by Agustí Villaronga, who died on 22 January, opens in cinemas on Friday 31 March. The screening at the Sala Augusta brought together family, friends and colleagues in tribute to the recently deceased filmmaker
Loli Tormenta, the other posthumous film by Agustí Villaronga, winner of 9 Goyas and 13 Gaudí awards, was screened yesterday at the Sala Augusta, attended by family, friends and colleagues of the Mallorcan filmmaker. The President of the Government of the Balearic Islands, Francina Armengol, also attended the screening.
Tono Folguera, producer of the film, “Villaronga’s last gift”, told of the difficulties in bringing it to life, and the filmmaker’s best friend, Katina Penyafort, explained how the author embarked on making an “agricomedy” with this film, as she defined it.
Susi Sánchez, winner of this year’s Goya awards for Cinco lobitos, stars in the film, in which Pepa Charro, Celso Bugallo and Fernando Esteso, among others, also take part.
Loli Tormenta tells the story of Lola, the modern and chaotic grandmother of Edgar and Robert, who took charge of them after the death of her daughter. The three of them live in a modest house on the outskirts of Barcelona, but their quiet life is about to change when Lola enters an advanced stage of Alzheimer’s disease and the children take care of her, cleverly hiding her illness to avoid being separated from her.
