Serveis Ferroviaris de Mallorca (SFM) will introduce special Christmas trains in 2025, including overnight services on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, as well as a significant increase in frequencies on 25 and 26 December and 1 January, with the aim of providing comfortable and safe public transport during the festive period.
Overnight trains on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve
SFM is repeating and consolidating the overnight service launched in 2023, offering trains throughout the night on the two most significant nights of the Christmas period. The special trains will operate on the Palma–Manacor and Palma–Sa Pobla routes, in both directions and stopping at all intermediate stations.
Christmas Eve timetables (24 December):
- From Palma: departures at 00:00, with the last service at 04:00.
- From Manacor to Palma: 01:20 and 04:20.
- From Sa Pobla to Palma: 02:30 and 05:15.
New Year’s Eve timetables (31 December):
- From Palma: first departure at 00:50, last service at 04:00.
- From Manacor to Palma: 02:10 and 04:50.
- From Sa Pobla to Palma: 02:30 and 05:10.
More trains on Christmas Day
As the main new feature, Christmas Day (25 December) will see a service almost equivalent to a full public holiday timetable. A total of 53 trains will be scheduled, compared with the usual 65 on a public holiday, significantly expanding the service compared to previous years.
Reinforced service on 26 December and 1 January
- 26 December: public holiday service with a special afternoon and evening reinforcement, adding 16 additional trains between Palma and Inca in both directions.
- 1 January: the standard public holiday timetable will be maintained, with no reduction in services, consolidating the change introduced last year.
This reinforcement on 26 December coincides with the special weekend service offered by SFM since late November, which will remain in place until 6 January.
Adjustments to daytime services on 24 and 31 December
To support work–life balance for staff:
- The daytime service on 24 and 31 December will finish earlier.
- Last departure from Palma: 21:25 (Palma–Inca).
- Last departure towards Palma: 21:30 (Manacor–Palma).
This year, two additional trains have been added compared to the previous year, slightly extending the daytime service.
