The EMT Palma improves the frequencies of nine lines in winter timetables and recovers the service of the L11 on weekends. These are lines 10, 12, 14, 19, 19, 20, 24, 24, 29, 39 and 40, which have improved their frequencies. The rest maintain the current schedules. Lines A1 and L25 reduce their interval compared to last winter, from 20 to 15 minutes. Neighborhood lines are reinforced thanks to the improved availability of the fleet.
The Municipal Transport Company of Palma (EMT) has published its new winter timetables, which will come into force on Wednesday 15 November 2023. Up to a total of nine lines – 27% of the total network – that serve different neighborhoods and destinations in Palma improve their frequency on weekdays and others will receive reinforcements at peak hours.
Winter timetables for EMT buses
In this way, the service is reinforced:
- L10 (Son Castelló-Sindicat), which will run every 12.5 minutes.
- The L12 (Sa Garriga-Nou Llevant) will run every 22 minutes.
- From L14 (Sant Jordi/S’Hostalot-Plaça d’Espanya), which will run every 15/20 minutes.
- From L24 (Antiga Presó-Nou Llevant) every 22 minutes.
- And the L40 (Eixample Transversal) will run every 20 minutes on weekdays.
- It should also be noted that three of the lines that serve the Son Espases Hospital, the L20 (Portopí-Son Espases), the L29
- (Son Espases-Plaça del Progrés) and the L39 (Son Espases-Palau de Congressos) will be reduced from 30 to 20 minutes.
- The improved service on L12 and L24 provides a combined frequency of 11 minutes between Nou Llevant and Carretera de Valldemossa.
- The combination of L39 and L40 provides a frequency of every 10 minutes between Palau de Congressos and Jacint Verdaguer on weekdays.
- In addition, the L19, which reaches the UIB and Parc Bit, recovers the 20 minutes of frequency it had last winter.
- On the other hand, L3 (Pont d’Inca-Joan Carles I) will have reinforcements at peak hours.and L23 (S’Arenal/Parc Aquàtic-Plaça d’Espanya) will see some departure times adapted.
- Line 7 (Son Gotleu – Son Serra/ Sa Vileta/Son Vida) will operate with articulated buses, thus increasing transport capacity.
In relation to weekends, whose new timetable will come into force on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 November, the service of L11 (Sa Indioteria Rural-Plaça d’Espanya) will be restored, both on Saturday and Sunday.
The rest of the lines generally maintain the current schedules, with a timetable adaptation of the lines that have a more tourist character. The A1 (Aeroport-Palma Centre) and L25 (S’Arenal-Plaça de la Reina/Cathedral) lines have improved their interval with respect to last winter, from 20 to 15 minutes.
