The Tensamba International Brazilian Music Festival returns to Palma from September 1st to 8th to celebrate its second edition. For a week, the city will come alive with performances in various cultural centres, showcasing the richness and diversity of Brazilian music.
Performances at Door 13: A Vibrant Start
The Tensamba festival will kick off at Door 13, featuring artists such as the Duo Yemanjá, consisting of Aninha Cutia and Pedro Rosa. The festival will also see performances by the duo Verão, formed by Pere Arguimbau and Eva Huergo from Menorca, and the Alvorada Quarteto, a group from Formentera featuring Fernando de la Rúa, Ermanno Panta, André Maurel, and Isaac Robles.
Ses Voltes and the Grand Opening Gala
On September 6th, Ses Voltes will host free workshops and concerts. The day will begin with a grand batucada that will parade through the centre of Palma, culminating at 9:00 pm with the grand gala, where the female quartet Madame Baião from Barcelona will perform.
Teatre Municipal Xesc Forteza: The Heart of the Festival
The most anticipated performances will take place during the final days of the festival. On September 7th, the Teatre Municipal Xesc Forteza will be the venue where Brazilian music enthusiasts can enjoy the talent of Will Santt, an artist who started his career at the age of 9 and already has a hundred songs to his name.
The festival will conclude on September 8th, also at the Xesc Forteza, with a performance by Fabiana Cozza, a prominent Brazilian singer who has collaborated with renowned soloists and groups such as Zimbo Trio and the Brazilian Symphony Jazz Orchestra.
