The Mallorca public transport Tarjeta Única (Single Card) will be available from October and will allow travel on trains, metro, interurban buses (TIB) and Palma city buses (EMT), according to announcements by the Conseller for Housing, Territory and Mobility of the Government, José Luis Mateo, and the Deputy Mayor for Mobility of the Palma City Council, Antonio Deudero. This improvement aims to make the operation faster and more convenient for all users, allowing them to use any public transport mode across the island of Mallorca with a single card.

With almost 570,000 residents already holding an Intermodal Card, over 230,000 of whom live in Palma, this integration represents a key step towards more efficient and sustainable mobility.
Conseller José Luis Mateo highlighted that the Government and City Council “work together to improve public transport, making it a real alternative to private vehicles and helping reduce traffic congestion” both in Palma and on the island’s roads. Deputy Mayor Deudero called the initiative a “historic milestone“, noting that the new card “represents a very important step for Palma residents, providing a more practical, convenient, and functional service”. “After more than two decades, a coordinated transport policy between administrations is finally being implemented,” he added.
Payment by card on EMT buses
Additionally, the new Single Card will serve as an identifier for Palma residents to obtain, free of charge via the Internet, the residency certificate for travel and for functions related to best practices in waste management, such as opening brown bins for organic matter.
Another announced improvement is that it will be possible to pay the fare by card on Palma EMT buses. This system already works on trains, metro, and TIB interurban buses. The measure is aimed at occasional users, such as non-residents or those who do not have an Intermodal Card or Palma Citizen Card.
