Since last weekend, the lifeguard service on the beaches of Palma for the 2025 season has been activated, ensuring the safety of swimmers. A total of 41 professionals will be on duty at the main bathing areas until 31 October, according to the Ajuntament.

The operation covers five main beaches —Platja de Palma, Cala Estància, Ciutat Jardí, es Portixol, Can Pere Antoni and Cala Major— as well as other bathing areas such as Roques de Cala Major, Cala Nova, es Molinar, Son Caios, es Carnatge and Cala Gamba.
In addition to lifeguard staff, the operation includes 16 surveillance towers, a semi-rigid boat, three jet skis and an ambulance dedicated exclusively to assistance and medical transport on the beaches.
Timetable of the lifeguard service on the beaches of Palma
The lifeguard service on the beaches of Palma will operate during the following hours:
- Until 30 April: from 11:00 to 17:00.
- From 1 May to 30 June: from 11:00 to 19:00.
- From 1 July to 31 August: from 10:00 to 19:30.
- From 1 to 30 September: from 10:00 to 19:00.
- From 1 to 31 October: from 10:00 to 17:00.
Assisted bathing
The assisted bathing season has started at Cala Estància, Ciutat Jardí, Can Pere Antoni, Cala Major and at Balnearios 7 and 15 of Platja de Palma, facilitating access to the sea for people with reduced mobility.
With this deployment of lifeguards on the beaches of Palma, the Ajuntament reinforces its commitment to the safety and well-being of residents and tourists along the coastline during the summer months.
