The Consell has presented a special programme for Easter 2025 in Mallorca with more than 20 cultural activities, taking place between 17 March and 13 April. The agenda includes exclusive exhibitions, concerts by music bands, lectures, a re-enactment of the Via Crucis, and the participation of musical groups in traditional processions. All activities are free of charge and will be held in various locations across the island, with the aim of promoting the understanding and preservation of Mallorca’s cultural and religious heritage.
Among the most notable events is the grand concert on 23 March in the patio dels Homes at the Centro Cultural La Misericòrdia, where more than 500 musicians from across the island will gather for a band performance. Visitors can also explore the “1st Exhibition of Mallorca’s Brotherhoods“, featuring 41 brotherhoods showcasing their banners and distinctive elements, as well as a photographic exhibition displaying works by 11 photographers from Mallorca. In the academic sphere, the series of lectures will cover topics such as the devotion to Sant Crist de la Sang and the evolution of processional music in Palma.
Antònia Roca, Vice President of the Consell de Mallorca and Minister of Culture and Heritage, highlighted that “this programme brings the cultural and religious richness of Holy Week closer to the public.” She also emphasised that “the initiative not only preserves tradition but also offers culture for all audiences through music, photography, and history.”
