In the southeast of Mallorca, with approximately 48 kilometers of coastline, Santanyí stands out as one of the island’s municipalities with the most landscape wealth. Its spectacular beaches and coves with crystalline waters have become a powerful attraction for residents and travelers from all corners of the globe, who find in this corner a place to live a truly genuine experience. Mondragó Natural Park, of great ecological value, its natural harbors, the popular and busy weekly market on Wednesdays and Saturdays, the kindness of its people… There are endless reasons why you should choose Santanyí for a dream vacation alone, in couple or family, away from the bustle of the city.
Cala d’Or, an unforgettable stay
With a beautiful Ibizan style architecture, Cala d’Or has the privilege of hosting some of the most beautiful beaches on the island, such as Cala Esmeralda, Cala Egos or s’Amarador. Its fine golden sand and turquoise waters lend themselves to rest and disconnect. The relaxed atmosphere also reigns in the natural harbor of Cala Llonga, the Cala d’Or Marina, with a wide variety of shops, cafes and restaurants where you can shop, stroll and spend the day.
Cala d’Or does not forget the most adventurous. On foot, by bicycle or by boat, you can get from one cove to another and those who are passionate about the sea can explore its prosperous underwater fauna by immersing themselves in its waters.
Cala Figuera’s romanticism
Cala Figuera gives off a rare magic. A refuge for fishermen in the past, this natural enclave offers a journey back in time through its llaüts, fishing nets drying in the sun, boathouses and characteristic stone houses.
Caló des Moro, a must
Between cliffs and surrounded by pine trees, bushes, broom and mastic hides the magnificent unspoilt beach Caló des Moro, a bit difficult to access but of unusual beauty. The appearance of this idyllic place varies according to the storms, which modulate the space available for sunbathing.
Quality flutters on the coast
The beaches of sa Font de n’Alis, Cala Santanyí, Cala Llombards, s’Amarador and Cala Gran, in Cala d’Or, have the Blue Flag, a quality certificate granted by the European Union in recognition of the quality of the waters, good environmental management, services and security they offer. In this way, Santanyí is positioned as the Mallorcan municipality with the most blue flags, proof of its commitment to value and protect the environment and landscape.
Welcome to Santanyí
Maria C. Pons Monserrat, mayor of Santanyí.
“Cala d’Or is a jewel like few exist in the Mediterranean. It is known for its Ibizan style of white houses, for its natural coves of golden sand and a wonderful turquoise water. Thinking about the comfort and adaptation of the tourist on the island of Mallorca, an area was created to reflect the best of a summer and Ibizan environment, in the municipality of Santanyí. During its creation, they wanted to preserve the charm of its history. This is how Cala d’Or was born and is how it remains, with the help of an environment that is a gift of nature. In our municipality we can enjoy beaches, coves and corners that provides a unique and natural value and that make it a magnificent place to live, to rest or simply to spend the holidays.
But we cannot forget the rest of our territory, with virgin beaches such as S’Amarador, Cala Mondragó and Caló des Burgit, or the Mondragó Natural Park, and the unique ports of Cala Figuera and Portopetro, with a magnificent gastronomy offer, or the towns of Cala Santanyí and Cala Llombards, specialized in family tourism. The versatility of our municipality as a quality tourist destination is very difficult to beat, and we cannot be more proud of. That is why our goal is to maintain this beauty, quality and safety, in the best possible conditions, and seek that whoever visits us lives a unique and unforgettable experience. In addition, to all that has been said, we can also boast of having the third most important marina in the Balearic Islands and the most relevant in east Mallorca”.
